Argos Clearance Laptop

Options
I have narrowed down my search for a laptop to replace my old desktop, and I want a 17" screen because I don't need it to be portable.
There are two choices (that I could afford!) on the Argos Clearance site:
1. Toshiba L350-235
2. Toshiba P300-20c

I haven't a clue which is the best buy (both priced @ £370 excl. delivery) so I was wondering if someone could advise me? (I don't do gaming).
Many thanks.

It would have saved anyone who wished to reply to your post an awful lot of time if you'd given links to both these laptops. I can only find one of them, the P300-20C.

Did you try the Argos "compare" feature? It might work if they have given decent specifications...

Number 2 is the best of the pair, with specification far above the first. Specs here.

The only thing missing is Windows 7. Nice machine anyway.

My apologies, I don't know how to post links (very much a Silver Surfer and novice).
I'll try the Argos "Compare feature" but will probably go with No.2 as Donnie suggests.
Many many thanks for the help, I was definitely floundering (no change there then)!:)

Argos Clearance has had some good reviews - not least on this Forum - and I want an affordable laptop with a 17" screen. This is the only way I can afford a "good" (hopefully) laptop. Comes with a one year warranty and I can return if need be.
    It's a shame it doesn't come with Windows 7, but you can't have everything I s'pose :o
and the 17" ones on Dell with W7 are more expensive.
On that note: would it be fairly painless/inexpensive to upgrade it to Windows 7...is this even possible?
I'm not at all technical and will get someone in to set the laptop up anyway.

What a 'silly billy' you can be.

How many complaints about Argos Clearance have you seen on this forum?

Once again, you attempt to hijack a thread with nothing useful to contribute. Haven't you got any friends?

Yes you can do a straight upgrade from Vista to W&-that's the first thing I'd do after taking it out of the box.
You really don't need to pay anyone to set it up or upgrade, plenty of advice on here if you get problems.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Thanks macman, I really appreciate that. I'm in my late sixties so I haven't been bought up with computers like some of you...so I need all the help I can get!
Will certainly upgrade to Win7. Thanks again.
