I need to get a pram/pushchair. Can anyone recommend one please or say which ones to avoid! Someone is buying it for us as a present but I get to choose :j. It can be upto £400!!!
I'd like to get the carrycot part for the first few months as I'll use that in the house as a day bed too. I want it to become a parent facing pushchair after that. We have a car seat (maxi-cosi) from our first so we don't need to waste money on that. There are so many out there I could do with some advise from you lovely people

Ooohh if I could do my baby years over again I would certainly get the mama and papa's pliko pramette.. has a carrycot bit, but also converts into upright pushchair when child old enough. Gorgeous pushchairs with lovely accessories

Hi,
I was asking this a week or two ago and have spent today in some baby shops and I think my head is going to explode. The dream one I saw today was a Jane Slalom in Calm Blue which for the pushchair, car seat, iso-fix base, carry cot and changing bag is £900:eek:.
But I also saw a really nice one and wanted to know if anyone had any opinions/experiences of it. It is called a Beep+ from Baby Elegance and for all the same bits as above is €449. This is an Irish company and I live in Northern Ireland, so could get to a store to collect.

I got a Silvercross 3D pram system for my DS. He is now 2 1/2, and its still going strong, although I must confess to using a lightweight stroller in the summertime.
Its currently being sold on offer in mothercare for £299, and its really great as both a pram, and a pushchair.0 -

That silvercross one looks nice too. Sometimes I would love another baby if only for buying a pram! I can understand why some mums get so addicted to them.0 -
I have the mamas & papas 3 in 1 pramette. It's a carrycot, carseat, buggy. Four wheels, lightest on the market. In theory one hand fold, but I always use 2. I got it on ebay for £190, retails for £550. The car seat clicks into the pram, which is handy when the baby is sleeping. It's very light, but it also doesn't have anything to fasten it shut when it's folded down so has a habit of flopping open.0

I fell in love with the colour scheme. The car seat is available separately, which can be used with the pram, and would take it to just under your £400 budget, while on sale.0 -
I had the mamas and papas pliko pramette and absolutely adored it, it was fantastic and would definately get it again if i was expecting, great as the baby can face you when they are really small, then they can sit and face the world whenthey are a bit bigger, you get the car seat option which is soooooo handy when you don't want to wake them up when getting out of the car, it is easy to fold as it is umbrella style and i loved the fact i could hang my shopping on the handles when i filled the basket up:rotfl:
Just to say after 4 years it was still going strong and i sold it on to someone else, very mse:D:j:j:j0 -
My sister had the silver cross 3d, as lovely a pram/pushchair that it is, it isnt parent facing when little one is out of the pramette part so will go straight to forward facing.
Also the pramette part didnt last too long as my niece was a long baby and was out of it within 6 weeks or so.
The Mammas and Pappas is a simular design but the pramette part seems a little bigger (well it did when the 3d and m&P were side by side in the shop) .
When i had my children i had a 3 in one (same pram for both kids ), so there was a separate carrycot and a seat unit. Mine was by babecar.
I couldnt rate it high enough.
It was along the line of this:

(But mine was without the carseat)
WOW Just found a copy of my pram on ebay.
very bright and colourful! LOL

The Babystyle Oyster is pretty nice. We bought the stroller with carrycot for around £350 I think - and it works with the Maxi-cosi cabriofix if that's the seat you've got (though you do need adaptors that are about £15). It's a bit like an iCandy but cheapy, and folds really small. Parent-facing with the carry cot, and I believe it faces both ways as a pushchair.
I'm still waiting for imminent baby arrival so haven't actually used mine yet, but I'm looking forward to it.0 -
hi, we had a similar offer from a friend to buy ours. We decided though on a second hand quinny buzz with maxi cosi car seat (excellent couldnt fault it) but used the money to buy a really nice mclaren stroller. Glad we made the choice as 6 months on our lad doesnt fit in the car seat anymore and we cant be bothered carrying around the quinny so have switched to the mclaren. Personally were glad we didnt spend £400+ on the quinny etc or an expensive pram that after 6 months we dont want to use anymore.0
