Fit_Like wrote:Just a thought, if you normally post 1st class, why don't you email them saying that as they have paid via cheque which takes clearance time, the items will be posted 2nd class when clearance is assured. Then hopefully you will recoup some of your time costs?
Of course this might be completely irrevelant in which course ignore me! :-)
ooh thats not a bad idea ya know

If that is the case then they shouldn't have placed a bid on an auction where the seller stated Postal Orders only.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Do you send invoices out? That could be an opportunity to re-state your accepted payment methods. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Email and tell them that you stated postal orders only and that you dont accept cheques - tell them however that there will be a delay while you wait to go to the bank, then another wait while the cheque clears, then you just post it the cheapest possible way!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Yeah i did with all of them and stated that it was due to the royal mail price increases and that if they sent a crossed postal order these are treated as cheques, yet it didnt seem to make a blind bit of difference, on further inspection the one postal order i did recieve was crossed :rolleyes:The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

awww don't feel like that with sales doing so well, think of it has a hitch thats a pain in the !!! but out of your control, try to send everything as cheaply as possible to stop it eating into your profits and adjust any P&P charges that you can to include the hike in prices.
don't let it get you down, you could be like me and spent so much on listing fees and postal costs and be outta pocket   oh well, i'm new to it all, i'm sure i'll learn

looking at it from a buyers POV (and I'm not one of your buyers btw lol), if I was paying for something costing £45 and it was payment by postal order, I would only send a crossed one despite it you asked for it crossed or not as you do not automatically get asked for ID in the post office for cashing a postal order, and in fact, before they were printed, many I received never even had my name on them, so it is a lot safer to send it crossed - going back to my original point lol, a crossed postal order takes the same amount of time to clear through the bank as a cheque, so it would have made no difference if they had sent postal order or cheque - I know what you are saying,I used to like postal orders as it meant I had the money instantly to pay for the postage! until I didn't get one and it had been cashed.....but not by me!!! If you don't want them crossed, you may need to amend your listing that any uncrossed ones should be sent recorded delivery so you guarantee receipt of it.0
