Argh!!!! So Frustrated!

Last lot of auctions i put up all ended on sunday, i stated postal order only so that when i recieved them i could send them straight off as i hadnt factored in the increased postage charges which are going up on monday.

However i have just recieved 14 payments through the post and they are all bloody cheques  through nationwide these take 5 working days to clear which means if i get to pay them in today they wont clear until next weds meaning it is going to cost me more than what i charged them to post the bloody things

why is it when buyers see the words postal order they presume a cheque would be ok

sorry i just needed to rant getting increasingly fed up with ebay now and i think i may well stop selling after this lot has all gone it seems to be causing me more hassle than its worth :(

What payment method did you tick on your listings?

Not all people read the actual listings properly, so just check at the bottom in the payment bit.

This is why I always triple check the payment before I bid, I know that if a buyer has put a certain methord it's for a reason, just wish all buyer's were like that it may make more people want to sell.

postal order/bankers draft was the only one i ticked on all of them, it doesnt bother me so much if they contact me and let me know they are going to send a cheque (which only one of them did as he is unable to get to the post office due to work commitments and he has added an extra pound on top to cover any extra it would cost me) but apart from him they have all just taken it upon themselves to send a cheque

maybe if it was just 1 or 2 that had done it it wouldnt have been so bad but for so many of them to do it just infuriates me even more

I wouldnt accept them! I only accept paypal anyway now but I would tell the buyers (with the exception of the one that let you know) that you dont accept cheques and it was stated in your listings that you only take postal orders.

You arent having much luck with ebay at the moment are you?!

  • I would email those buyers who have sent you cheques and refer them to your auction listings stating payment by PO only. Obviously, do it in a really nice way. Go on to explain that due to them sending you a cheque, the item will be posted upon clearance.

It's not this that is the problem, due to the postage charges going up on monday the prices that i charged them dont reflect the amount it is going to cost me to send the items - this was the main reason why i stated postal order only - im actually rather tempted to send back all the cheques with a note saying please read the auction properly :rotfl: though by doing that its going to take just as long for them to go to the post office get a postal order send it and for me to recieve it as it would for me to wait until the cheque clears - ok well maybe not as long but the postal charges would still have gone up by then!

hjb123 - no im not it feels like all my buyers have it in for me at the mo :rotfl: think after this lot has all gone im going to be leaving ebay alone for a little while :rotfl:

Maybe they used cheques as they are free. The PO charges people for postal orders :(

Just a thought, if you normally post 1st class, why don't you email them saying that as they have paid via cheque which takes clearance time, the items will be posted 2nd class when clearance is assured. Then hopefully you will recoup some of your time costs?

Of course this might be completely irrevelant in which course ignore me! :-)
