I don't think i can use connector blocks at the switch, as the spade connectors fix directly onto the bits of metal sticking out of the switch.
Am i correct??0 -

Leave the spade connectors attached, just cut the wires and conect with small connectors, 2 will be needed.A thankyou is payment enough .0 -

Wow..thanks for all your suggestions and links/help.
I"ve finally fixed in and well pleased with myself! Bought new spade connectors ( couldn't use block ones, as i'd already prised off the old spade one..but will remember next time!). Pushed them in place and pressed down with pliers ( as no crimping tool).
Bit of fiddling about, to get the switch to engage properly with the yellow button..and..eureka.
Nice clean carpets.
