Do you need a buggy footmuff when they're a toddler?

One thing I do HATE, is when you see little ones obviously cold in a pushchair.
It makes my blood boil that some mums don't wrap their kids up warm in cold weather.
I heard a conversations a few weeks ago in the supermarket. 2 women were talking about a baby they had seen with blue hands , but the mum didn't notice (or care)
I wish that my little boy would be wrapped up. Every time we leave the house he has gloves on, hat, foot muff. We step outside he takes everything off and lifts his legs out of the foot muff. He is like this all of the time- even in the snow and rain he won't have his rain cover on and leans forward putting it out of his way. I can't stay in all of the time because he won't cover up I'd become a recluse! I have found that in the sun he will wear a baseball cap- the only thing he will wear!0 -
To be fair, some babes are easier to wrap up than others.
DS3 hated having gloves on: he would pull them off, get cold hands, and then cry because his hands were cold. I had to get some I could tie on, and then I was worried I'd tie them so tight I'd cut off the blood supply. And he'd cry because I'd tied them on and he wanted them off. What's a mum to do?
I had the same problem with DS2 and socks, couldn't keep socks on him to save my life. But I solved THAT one by putting him in tights under his trousers. :rotfl:
P.S - He's now 10 years old and still the same!0 -
Get a buggy-snuggle type, much more choice. But as for if they need it, it really depends. DS2 was in a buggy far longer than DS1 and outgrew the cosy toes. Blankets were a pain as they kept coming loose and getting caught in the wheels, wish I had known of the happy sack then, they do longer ones.
But there are also places like etsy.com where people will make you one to your measurements and material choice. (or you can do it ourself)
Cup holder, for you or the LO? I found the boys didn't use them anyway, they just got full of yucky stuff and if I left them with a cup it would just get spilled in the buggy anyway. DS2's pram had a cup holder for me, never used that, I was too scared it would fall!0 -
The cup holder would be for me. Just thought it would be nice to have really, but I've decided I don't need one!
And I know I won't need a cosytoes in July but I am thinking long-term as it is £100 so I want to spend it wisely. I was thinking of the winter.
And I doubt she will be walking in July - she only just learned to crawl and is 'slow' on all her gross motor skills milestones.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Skintchick, £100 seems an awful lot of money. I had a Mothercare cosytoes [quite cheap] and even using it for 3 babies wouldn't have justified that kind of expense. I found I only used it on extremely cold days, the rest of the time they wore the all in one snowsuits which I found kept them lovely and warm.[You can always add extra layers of clothing underneath as well] Most babies do like to get out and walk as well and I found these gave them more freedom.0

I meant the stroller! The cosytoes thing is about £35 from Silver Cross (which is still pricey).:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Please don't become too concerned about milestones. Our baby didn't crawl until nearly 11 months but was walking a week after reaching 12, climbing up every piece of furniture that could be found as well as diving off of it by 13, and running, jumping, and kicking footballs by 14 months. If you can put the money aside it may be a good idea to reassess what meets your family requirements closer to the time of your holiday.ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0
