Do you need a buggy footmuff when they're a toddler?

We are trying to buy a buggy/stroller (folding thing) for our holiday, but the one we like doesn;t have a footmuff. They actually don;t make one for it, and I'm trying to decide if it's important.
It also doesn;t have a cup holder which I had rather fancied but guess isn;t really essential.
Can some stroller users tell me if these things are vital or not?
We are looking at the Silver Cross Pop Sport. The basic Pop has a cup holder and you can get a footmuff for it, but it only comes in black and grey and I like colour. The Vogue also has these things but is pricey and also not in great colourways.

I wouldn't say so. We have a silver cross and the cosytoes was terrible and slipped down all the time. I ended up just tucking a fleecy blanket around him when I needed it which was much easier IMO.
For the occasions you'd want one it seems a lot of money even if you could get one.0 -
Neither are necessary.
If there is a cup holder there is something else to collect crumbs and dirt, or for a cup to be hurled out of the pushchair!
Toddlers tend to outgrow muffs by the time they are 2 years old. If you want a muff you can buy a snuggle sac, I got mine from JoJo Maman, but as I said from the age of two, my daughter got too long in the leg for hers, I just wrap a blanket around her on cold days, and put her in warm clothing.

Where are you going on holiday? Are you planning on being out somewhere really cold? If it's just a case of a chilly evening then a blanket is fine. More kids get stressed out by being too hot than too cold!0

You can buy 'non-specific' foot muffs from places like Mothercare can't you? I'm sure I had one when mine were little. Just a bit of elastic to go round the back of the buggy.
Never had a cup-holder and mine survived ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Devon in July. But I was thinking ahead really. She is 9 months now but I wondered if the lack of footmuff would annoy me later, but now I've seen those snuggly muff things we could just get one of those. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I have a maclaren stroller and my mum made me a really lovely bright cosy toe's for it, as it is a boring grey buggy and like you, I like a bit of colour!
However since about 18 months DD has rarely used her buggy, and hasn't been in it at all from about 20 months, she prefers to walk and hates being strapped in. (lucky as Baby no.2 is due in June.)
Only occasional times when it was really handy, but a blanket would have done the same job. If it is really cold out you can always put tights under her trousers and a blanket on her lap.0 -
in winter foot muff are fantastic. but i have found my son out grew them very quickly. i just about got away with one this winter but i bought a universal one and it was huge, but he has long leg's. when babies are little then i think their great. but now we just use blankets. as for a cup holder. my pliko had one and after 2 days i removed it. was so annoying.0

Hi,
I have one of these for my DD, she's 3 now and still fits in it. They're great for adding colour.
I do have a bit of a colour clash going on now though with a purple stroller and a pink buggy snuggle.
I've had it for over 2 years now and it still looks brand new and they fit most styles of pushchairs strollers.
Mine has been on a Graco, ICandy and now a Obaby with no problems.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Skinty, have you tried the little one in the pop buggy?
Only asking because the seat is very shallow ~ even a sales assistant in Mothercare told me about it because a lot of people buy without trying the baby in it and find the seat/bum part too small as the baby gets bigger.
If you do get one though, you can pick up any universal footmuff xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
when we last had a holiday (3 yrs ago now also to Devon) i just got a £35 stroller from Mothercare, really light and not bulky and just used a blanket with it. For ds3 now a 2 yr old we have a maclaren triumph and he kicks blankets off so on chillier days i put the raincover over it and he loves that!grocery challenge jan 17 £ / 350.000
