It's possible, my sister asked me to be Chief bridesmaid for her about 5 weeks before their wedding, we bought dresses for her, me and 2 little ones, flowers, food etc all sorted out the next weekend. She is not a big believer in forward planning LOL but it was a lovely church wedding with a sit down meal for 50 people and it all went really well.

My other sister has given me a year's notice as she get's married next summer.

I'm on my way (from misery to happiness today) by The Proclaimers- the song from Srke 1 that my sil and her now dh had for their first dance, made everyone smile:D

Congratulations on your wedding, I think it's a very wise move to take away any thoughts of your loss away from your wedding day. It will always remainwith you, but your original wedding day would hold too many associations.

Have you thought about a 2nd hand dress? Then get it fitted by a seamstress.Could save you hundreds without going down the she got that from BHS route;)

Myself and DH got married on 9th November and the weather was lovely. It was clear and sunny, albeit a bit chilly. I wore a shawl over my dress for most of the day and also borrowed my brother's overcoat for a while - made for some great fun photos.

We also had huge help from our families, my parents had the reception at their house and paid for it all, my sister bought the cake....

We didn't go on honeymoon either until much later as we had two children and no budget for a honeymoom. Didn't matter, we had one night alone and that was enough!

We also planned our wedding at short notice and we had a fantastic day. We will have been married for 15 years this November - and that is what counts at the end of the day!

You sound like you are very organised, which helps! Have a great day and don't forget to post some photos!

    Congrats on your wedding
I went to a wedding last week and the meal was an afternoon tea with sandwiches, traybakes, cheesecake, chocolate dipped strawberries and marsmellows it was great as it was a buffet everyone just choose what they wanted and we all had a great time. This is also something that can be prepared by friends/family without a lot of hassle
