  • its very possible to get it all done ..my mum had it all done in an afternoon. we asked my dad at dinner time, that afternoon my mum got on the case ..... and by tea time ..........
church, vicar & organist booked. venue for reception and evening party booked. Caterers booked. Band & disco booked. Photographer was made to cancel a wedding he already had on to do mine !! Cousin phoned to make wedding cake, church ladies informed about cleaning and decorating church and venue, florist (a friend) rang to do other flowers, my brother popped down the pub straight after lunch and booked the bar !!

I wasnt sure about dresses so mum rang local girl up who is a whizz with a needle to help give me some advise, following on from that phone call my mother informed me i had to have my 2 cousins as bridesmaids (I do .. I did ? ?) we rang mother in law to tell her news ...she had only met me for the first time 2 weeks before ...ha ha ..... she told me i had to have her daughter as bridesmaid) I wanted my 3 closest friends ... so Local girl called again to request fitting date to measure me up for my dress and 6 bridesmaids up for thiers !!!! I then rang my 3 friends and told them the news ! dh rang his best man and told him to organise a stag doo ..and mum then got on the case for invitations.

Tea time we were picking hymns !!!!

I loved my day but did as i was told ....dad paid so i cant and wont ever complain !!!!!!!!!

and all that was done on a sunday ..we married on a wednesday. far easier to organise verything on a weekday. We were worried about those who work etc ..but were amazed everyone who was invited came ..... one guest actually rang to ask could he bring his brother ...ummm ....wierd but we said sure !!! at the end of the day if they love you and want to be there ..they will be.

    hav fun organising it.

wow emmab you don't half move quickly. Congratulations, you will have a fab time organising it.

For music, I'd check Confetti or hitched, they have loads of suggestions and previews of it so you can hear it aswell. Remember if you are having a registry office or civil cermony you can't have any music with religious conatations (sp?), which will limit your choice slightly, so even if you are having the instrumental versions you will need to now what the words to it are. We had Calon Lan (a Welsh love song) which the registrar was convinced was religious, but when we got it translated didn't at all.
