LesD wrote:Wrong - if it's on credit, then the sale has been made and ebuyer own the stock! There's a distinct difference between a 'sale' and the 'payment' for the sale! The reason suppliers won't be happy to see ebuyer go under is that they will be unlikely to get paid in full!
All depends on the terms of the sale - many suppliers have a clause in the sales agreement which reads something like "items remain the property of xxxx until paid for in full"EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -
Which is not a credit sale. That's either a cash sale or sale-or-return.
It's pretty stupid anyway! How can ebuyer sell them if the supplier may want them back!!!
Besides, if they do go belly-up, I can't see the liquidators handing the stock back to the suppliers!0 -

I've used ebuyer for about 4-5 years now, spend over 3k with them. Had a few problems with items and had to return a few items and never had a single problem. I've always called them to explain and I guess they have looked at my account and have arranged collection, or refunded me the postage cost for the item. RMAs have been handled very well, always replaced or refunded very quickly including once when I have a faulty mobo for a xmas pressie PC and they sent me a replacement in advance of getting the old one back.
Their CS did suck for a while which was down to not enough staff but they seemed to recover from that and accept it is a real issue and published the wait times and stats on the site for waiting time, time to answer, time to resolve etc. I hope they don't go under, but they are the cheapest around for most things, so I bet there will be a few retailers hoping they do which is just jealousy/envy. I'll still buy from them, infact got a few thing to order anyway.
Also, I cannot agree with the slow delivery. They make it very clear when you order what the delivery date will be. Often I get an email saying your order will be delivered early which can cause probs if there is nobody at home, but surely this is better to get the chance of getting it early. I've never had a delayed delivery so can't comment on that, but I don't think they are misleading at all.

I am off to order a case from them soon as the case I got my heart set on, but I make sure I pay by cc rather than debit card just in case.0

I have to disagree. Returning something to Ebuyer is as easy as it is to Amazon. You simply select the item from your past orders and request an RMA number.
Once your have this number, you simply return the item and wait.
That's it. I've returned stuff to Ebuyer without problems at all - most recently a motherboard that was faulty.
They're not the best at handling queries, but certainly there are no problems with returns.

I came across these 2 articles concerning Ebuyer.com's financial standing and thought that others might want to read before parting with money to Ebuyer.

I hope Ebuyer sort themselves out as they provide good competition in the market place.
Cheers

Thanks.I to have found Ebuyer to be good competition. Also see that www.Quidco.com have recently added them to their cashback list so expect to earn an extra 1.5%,
I did however use Amazon recently for a Microsoft cordless keyboard and mouse.Worked out cheaper than Ebuyer inc postage and 3.5% cashback

I ended up having to take Ebuyer to small claims court. Their returns and CS were absolutley appaling, though that was some time ago. Only took them to court after they had not replaced or refunded my returned item after 9 months!
CWK..
