I bought from them recently, no problems at all, infact I thought their service has improved. One of their new warehouse's is just down the road to me (Howden), shame if they go under as there will be many local jobs lost :-(

Seems that their bad reputation is hitting hard now :-( Their prices still stay competative but shoppers are staying away. Lets hope time will build bridges

I've used them a good bit & not had any problems with either the kit or the service.
The only issue I've ever had was when a printer & digital camera went 'missing' at Citylink's Sheffield depot - eBuyer shipped new ones to me - priority - the day after the originals should have been delivered.
Not really sure how you could single their kit as 'cheap and nasty' when it's pretty much the same brands as everyone else.
I've got a couple of [non exploding type] laptops from Dell - who are often quoted as quality suppliers - & they really are crap , key tops falling off etc. & Dell's CS is abysmal.

    Long live eBuyer!

Their delivery times are rubbish and all. Can't say i'll be sorry to see them go under, but good luck to them anyway.

You mean like Apple, HP, Canon, Epson, Samsung, Panasonic... all the classic cheap and nasty brands...

I've bought loads of stuff from eBuyer and have never had a problem. Even when I've had to return stuff (which I've done on several occasions) they've provided a helpful and flawless service.

I agree they are a bit slow to deliver, but I've always found them up front about the time scales, and if I needed stuff quicker I'd go elsewhere and pay a bit more.

    eBuyer are great!

Yes I know of a lot of people who sing their praises, I bet all their customers who have never had a problem or cause to need to return anything...

Actually I had a problem with a product I bought for someone. Even though it was nearly 2 months later when I tested it they let me return it without any issues and refunded it straight away as they did with the delivery charges and the return charges. Was very hassel free

I had problems with them sending secondhand and broken items but their returns process was hassle free. I even forgot the courier was coming one day and didn't have the package ready but they just sent another the next day.

I would be sad to see them go as I've had some stonking bargains from them over the years.

A company like Ebuyer cant keep treating its customer with contempt with poor customer support for ever, word gets around and you only have to get your fingers burnt once unless your a fool to shop with them again. I buy most of my stuff from Novatech as I find them prices good and customer support/returns is very good from what I have experienced.

I wouldn't shed a tear if they went under, although I would feel sorry for some of the staff

Ebuyer have good prices, the moral of the story is that once you experience there customer support or lack of it, you no what there like are may well stay clear.

It may well be that things have improved, but there's a lot of negative media attention on this company for poor customer support and even if it had improved the damage may have already been done.

    Seems like there's two choices...

    1. Buy lots now and improve their cash flow to keep them going, or
    2. Wait for the 'bang' and pick stuff up cheaply in the 'fire sale'!

Personally, my dealings with them have been fine. As said, most of their stuff is named brands so can't really be classed as 'cheap and nasty stuff'.
  • Their wouldn't be anything being sold cheap, they don't own the stock, it's all in credit hence the reason suppliers are complaining about late payments. If Ebuyer went under then the suppliers would take their stock back.

Hopefully Ebuyer wont go under as they have cheap prices and for some items it doesn't matter when it's cheap if it does the job. I've had a few delivery problems with them but overall you get a good service.

Anyone who complains needs to remember that you get what you pay for. If you want all this great support then go and shop from a high street retailer and pay the extra costs. Ebuyer is cheap because it doesn't provide support for it's items.

You just need to compare it's prices to PC World to see what price you pay for support. I have seen PC fans on Ebuyer for £1 and the exact same one in PC World for £4 or £5.

You choose where your money is spent and take the risks, I will take a risk on Ebuyer as it's just as likely to go under as many of the other website stores. At least it's not a small company so won't just disappear with your money one day as independent sites would.

Wrong - if it's on credit, then the sale has been made and ebuyer own the stock! There's a distinct difference between a 'sale' and the 'payment' for the sale! The reason suppliers won't be happy to see ebuyer go under is that they will be unlikely to get paid in full!
