I'm afraid I'd say tough luck for moving in with students!
The student would not be liable and should not be expected nor feel obliged to offer anything towards the council tax!
At undergraduate I definitely agree. There's little desire to move in with students whilst an undergraduate, and they probably won't want a working person there either. There's also little excuse for not moving in with other students, since people are always looking to share.0 -
I got £50 a week for everything outside of bills and accomodation rent. I spent £15-£20 on food a week (and to be fair, I had no choice but to shop at Sainsbury's as that's one of only two supermarkets in Lancaster. The other being Booths. Both of which are expensive) and the rest went on other bits and pieces (socialising, laundrette, bus in and out of town, train home sometimes, any birthday presents etc) And some weeks I didn't spend all that. I saved enough from that £50 a week to go on holiday with my boyfriend for 2 weeks in the April of my first year at uni.Jeez, what food do you two buy??
It never costs that much to feed one person for a week!!
£70 a week in this house feeds two 'adults', a child, a dog, a cat and provides toiletries/cleaning products/printer paper etc too!! And if you look on the oldstyle board, that is expensive!!
£50 should be more than enough after rent and bills.0
