    Thank you both!
    I'm a bit of a newbie here and didn't know how to search old threads, so that was v helpful.
    Unfortunately the lid was oval so I don't have any suitable pan lids. :(
    I shall keep my eyes open!

    I'd try covering it tighly with foil one day when you can keep an eye on it - would do a s a temporary measure
