I would seriously advise not self moving.
There is a lot of stress on completion day; trust me, best not to add to it.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

we don't have to move on completion day, or in swoop. I'd certainly want to sleep there I think
big kid...but could do that with a Landrover full of supplies and cover at home for the birds.
Stuff in storage proper I think might be as sensible to have moved: its all packed etc. Here we have an attic full semi packed, but I think we might need to get that out urselved, can't ask movers to crawl into attic can we?
and a shed full...again, might need to bring around to a better place to load from in anycase....stuff in house....not sure...a couple of big pieces...maybe movers?0 -
Ooh... exciting times in lots of ways today! :j
We did part self-move within the city, using a small local firm for the heavy stuff and doing the rest at our leisure with the van, but with the big one, we hired a big van & 3 strapping men for two days. It came to £1200, which seemed pretty good value.
Worst thing we had was the ferrets' cage, which has 4 floors and doesn't dismantle. Need piano moving eqpt. for that!:rotfl:
Fingers crossed, eh?;)0 -

it will be worth 50% less in 6 months time, you'll lose your public sector job and your Morrisons share's will lose 90% of their value.
despite this, congratulations and hope that you're both very happy0 -
You should have waited 12 months and then you could have gotten it for a pittance.lostinrates wrote: »We've got it.

p.s. I trust the property came with a bunker as that's probably the most important feature needed when you decide to purchase property in these troubled times.0
