another develpment today...everything at once, is it is likely dh is going to be split between two offices at some point in the near future. Not more money though, but no more expense either, but now locking money away I think of all the things we could buy!

we have an invite in London next week and I just feel a bit....unusually, isolated, I think being out with people would be good right now. Can't go, late finish and driving both ways in the tuck when stressed is not the best plan...

Grrrr...I'm calmer here in person than in type. Sort of....the croissant has been followed by a piece of bread. ;) DH s home today, and probably tomorrow. ;)

Something with land but commutable (even if max out commutable) is hard esp in the nice areas. What is Kent like for you...is it practical or too pricey?

Kent actually does well in price comparison, and E.sussex. I don't know why, I'd have thought it was hot, hot, hot spot!

I love that you are talking me down. I have put down the breadknife and am backing away from the bread board....:rotfl::rotfl:

Point 2 is important I think. Maybe even if health stays good...having a life?

    3. Parents are separating, I get custody of one of them. Don't think it will pose much of a problem. That one will continue the arrangement we had here..i.e. equal share of bills etc, responsibility for self and selfs wants. Will probably travel a bit. Offered us money and we said no. we want this to be our risk....not theirs. Think they should spend what they earned...have a blow out for the rest of the time....

edit: stress eating despite calm...I have had some sourdough...god bread is good. I know I'll pay tomoorow, but BREAD! Hw I do with out his good stuff amazes me.....
Gosh...I don't know what to say.....have they been together what 35 years?

OK, if the bread is good quality and properly risen then shouldn't do any harm :D.......

    list out number 1 prorities.
Problem is land prices are so high, there is going to have to be compromise balanced with lifestayle choices. DH commuting would be the best one (except late work nights?) but enough land to support your business is too pricey in commutable locations?
I can't think of a solution at the mo ...

Its ok. I hope they'll both have fulfilled lives now. TBH, they probably should have done it years ago...maybe never got married. There are few histrionics or anything, just a bit odd. Both disappointed and excited about what comes next. :)

It was someone in the fashion industry.
Stated he was fed up of customers coming in and constantly going on about "how they could make something like that". He said his wife had the best answer to them where she stated that "no, you'd be copying me as I came up with this design.... first you'd need to think of something original and then make it".
He said he was from Brighton and it made me think of you. As I said, must be quite a few indie fashion shops in Brighton.... but not that many.... think he said his name was Daniel? Began with D anyhow. Might have made that name up for all I know though. Or Brighton! lol

I think it's these guys and they have only had that shop for about 2 years.
I knew the last tenants who were there maybe 10 years and left to carry on a hugely successful wholesale business.....the shop became way too much work for too little profit in the end.

    Local vacancy rates

I read a quote of Dans the other day too
Parts of the North Laine are performing better than others, with streets such as Church Street, Gloucester Road, North Road and Trafalgar Street having a vacancy rate of 10%.
Dan Curtis, co-owner of Red Mutha in Trafalgar Street, said that, even on a good Saturday, his takings are about half what they were when the shop opened two years ago.
He said only eBay sales kept the business going through the difficult winter months.
Mr Curtis said: “It is incredibly difficult. You see places coming and going all the time.”
He called for better signage around the city to promote his part of the North Laine.

    Nota bene:

2 glasses of claret (the bottle divided between hree of us and I took the meanest glass,) the croissant with extra butter and the bread.....I fully expected a 4 lb minimum increase this morning, but lost a pound (and had lost a pound yesterday). Something to be cheerful about!

I find, after a blow out, the weight appears 2-3 days after the big scoff .... :(
Which is a bit of a sod because having got away with it the next day it's so easy to continue eating because "it didn't make me gain weight" ergo it's OK to do it again ... and again.

    Something to look forward too...

no, I'm on the straight and narrow again now. I rarely resort to comfort eating, the confounding issue of my medical condition's impact on weight really strengthens my resolve. ATM what I'm struggling with is the eating plan I'm meant to follow now...I gained ten lbs on it. The idea was to try and stimulate metabolism by eating little and often, and it wasn't hard to follow, but it was a lot of time spent eating and although they warned I would gain weight I didn't expect 10 lbs, and to be honest, my brain couldn't cope. I'm trying not to fall back into the habit of ''saving'' calories for the weekend....which I have really got very deeply entrenched into doing since trying to cope with this problem....which is obviously really bad for a dodgy hormone profile/metabolism....but so much easier, because it means you can have a normal meal with family/friends once a week.

    This morning it has been:

On again, of again, on again, off again, offer is favorable don't need to raise it....might hear back this afternoon.

    We're hopeful. I think.

we are now having the self move or movers discussion: one that hasn't arisen with other places with no houses. I favour self move. DH points out while I might drive a hired lorry, he would be doing all the lifting. :)

edit: a good proportion of wanting to know ASAP is because if its a no I really should consider chicken housing this week.

Although self move looks a lot cheaper, a firm with a lorry, big strong men and crates is soooo quick and stress free.

I am booking removal firms for move from Brighton this time...one to new studio and one to home.
