Jo, now that is a great idea, I never thought of that, or looking at it that way.
Mambury, the flat is very peaceful and ever so quiet, it really is a bit spooky sometimes to never hear anything and yet know you are in town lol really hard to explain.
Well all best laid plans and such around here, my friend never did make it up here yesterday. His poor car had other thoughts like blowing both a radiator and a head gasket at the same time!! He was about half way up here when it happened. Poor guy, he really could have done without this happening and with a relaxing weekend instead. All being well however, he will be back up and running in a few days now tho, so all is not lost.
I booked the day off today and when it all happened I seriously considered going into work today but then waking up this morning I decided I had things that needed to be done that I just cant do at the weekend. So sorted out the bank, a phone and broadband, tried to switch from a pay as you go mobile which I am spending about 35-40 a month on and have had for several years to a monthly one for 15 with the same company but was declined at the credit check, could not believe it but under the circumstances etc, I suppose it does not surprise me, so now looking at my options. Just really trying so hard to get myself sorted and now of course trying to put away about 500 for another car as there is no way my knee replacement etc will take the nearly 6 mile rt walk to work and back for long. Then of course there are the others very dear to me that need paying back after the car episode. Feels like a never ending spiral however it is manageable and it will all happen, I just have to accept that it wont be overnight. When I think where I have been and where I am now, life really is good, quirks and all....
oh and on a rather funny matter, and yes it has taken me a couple of days to really see the funny side......the fridge I thought was a fridge, was told was a fridge and sold to me as a fridge is in fact a small freezer! So it is being forced to pretend it is a fridge by being turned down very very low and even off at times to just keep ticking over for a little while longer while I continue to try and find a fridge and one that can be delivered now.Positive to all of it tho is at least I wont have to look for a freezer now LOL. LOL My life is always an adventure lol, but overall I am loving it.I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -

:rotfl:At least you didn't buy a fridge thinking it was a freezer. That wouldn't have been so adaptable!

Hi everyone. Lol Munchki, nothing seems to go as it should for you, but at least your life will always be exciting!
I had some really strange news today. Apparently the mum cat I am fostering at the moment came from Leeds, and a camera crew from Animal 24 7 were with the inspector who rescued them. They took film of the new born kits and now want to do a follow up. I knew nothing of any of this until the RSPCA called me this morning asking me to call the reporter.
I did a mini interview with her on the phone and she asked if they could come and film at my home in a couple of weeks -
I said yes, with the proviso that I don't have to be on it. Me and cameras are not great friends. They always manage to make me look 20 times worse than even I think is possible! She said she could hear the passion in my voice when I talked about cats and thinks I would do a brilliant interview. I disagreed. She said we would "talk about it in a week or two"! Double !
Anyway, she wanted details of my blog so that she can read up about them so far and see pics of them - as you can imagine I am getting a new post ready tonight, motivation or what!! And I might be on tv!
So for the next two weeks I'm going to be cleaning and tidying like the obsessive compulsive creature I really am. I wonder if I can fit acting lessons in too
Does anyone want to double for me? :rotfl::jI shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.0 -
