Paula - for the boys can you not crop school trousers, long socks, white shirt and make some kind of waistcoat out of an old sheet.
the girls rattle up some white pinafores out of sheets and put a kick frill round the bottom and put over their dresses and a mop cap?

Thank you Jo, glad the review went well :)
Toots, what I'd really like is aSunny_Baudelaire_study_by_Pitchounette.jpg Victorian-looking dress each for the girls and some kind of suit for DS? I've found this but my sewing skills are very limited - and this -

HHH glad you're getting a break, don't think it matters where does it, my honeymoon was in York in November and it was freezing but I have happy memories of it :)

Paula - I haven't thought this through entirely clearly, but just throwing this out or I'll forget. The top kiddie dress - just wondering if you could do something with a single length of cloth/sheet, you know much like a sari but obviously slightly differently styled, belted at the waist. Striped socks with their ends cut off for the arms etc etc....
