Nixi, you probably won't see this but big massive hugs and will be looking out for you on here and FB to see how he is. Hope it's not too bad a night for you at hospital and will be thinking of you.
Em, OH did an eight-hour shift on his feet ending at 1am, then got up at 6am to do a 23 mile walk (kids charities), then had a beer and did another 8hr shift stood up all night - and he's a smoker and eats total carp. So I wouldn't worry (although you might be a bit sore the next day; he was in agony!)

Aww, can I have her? Lovely saw a female collie in town today that was very like our Tricky, except she had that lovely soft puppy fur... I'll swap you for Georgie, she's very demanding atm, and rages if anyone else sits on my lap even when she's not on it!
