NLID - what advertising/how do you do your advertising on your site? Sorry that is a really basic question lol!

on the old system... it was down to me finding affiliates and putting them on through an admin system or relying on adsense revenue /direct link sales. This has a major overhead in terms of managing each site when an affiliate stops aff marketing a direct ad/link sale doesnt renew etc etc etc etc if each site takes 5 minutes, per change - and there are 5 changes per month an done affiliate can be on upto 15 sites - you quickly realise how unmanageable it comes with 10+ sites let alone 73 sites - and websites get forgotten.

On the new system, when I delete an affiliate from the system/mark as dead - It will regenerate all of the websites that evening and replace the site with the new updated version - it takes me about 2 minutes to remove an affiliate.

This system also allows the same features for the linking aspect, ad sales etc.

These are just a few of the technological advantages, in terms of accounting it will generate the invoice, and then it will process the link payments and apply to the relevent invoice automatically (Saving another 5 minutes per invoice - which as the network gets established may be extremely beneficial).

Then as a freelancers platform, I am writing a plugin which will be hosted on a domain and allow me to request content out to a network of freelancers - who will bid for the job and I will get all details of past work they have done for me, what We thought of the work and importantly how close to the deadline were they (the deadline they set when they accepted the work). Then once the bid has been accepted it allows me to accept / reject work and provide reasons for such - any accepted work will be added to there total to arrange payment and automatically put into the website (Again whilst it adds work to me having to write comments on freelancers - it saves me constantly using unreliable people, however at the sametime automatically publishing the content will save me 5-10 minutes per project!)

Another great feature which is almost complete - is the ability for the site to manage the emails into one inbox which come in from the relevent addresses - and me only have to reply using the interface, it will send from the correct email address automatically. This saves me monitoring multiple accounts and getting mightily confused. I am yet to decide upon how this will look in the system but am convinced it will be best to have it provide me the information on the right of the screen about which domain the email is from, relevent ad prices etc etc.

The new system will also allow me to manage advertisements - both banner/text link / adsense and affiliate ads - providing me with teh widest possible range of sales avenues. It also manages the positioning of the adverts.

This system is designed as more than a CMS, it is the way I am going to manage my complete business, it includes the ranking reporter software which is a key system for anyone in my position.

Hi all! Nixi, that's a brilliant giant jump and I love the quotes, they give it that extra bit of oomph.... not sure what's out of my comfort zone though, hmm. Glad you got a good response from the police, too.
Elly, love the story! Made me giggle :) and yeah you do have to read them twice, the jokes are subtle but brilliant.
Mambury, those red shoes would look great with blue hair! Looking forward to pics!
I'm baking this afternoon. Banana bread, bread (in breadmaker), jam tarts, hobnobs, chocolate cake... none of which are supposed to be for me:rotfl:oh dear. Weight loss is...on hold, currently. Sold a comic on Amazon today, yay! xx
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

    Jo,

It all comes down to what you said, which made me do an awful lot of thinking.

I am (re)building the company around the strengths it has, and not those it has not got. There is not a cat in hells chance of me selling alcohol to an alcoholic who has been dry for a day. However I can play to my abilities - and through this hopefulyl build a long and prosporous future. Sure it has slowed development on esellertools - it has slowed webdeveloperstoolbox development and other projects I have not published on here - but at the same time it has made me realise where it is I spent the time in the past and to make more money - this has to be used more efficently!

Babymoo - it can get frustrating playing around with images. it takes up a lot more time than you expect doesn't it. once you get that website up and running it will be fab though and you will be really pleased with yourself. just look at mabe and her fence. it was bl***y hard work but she certainly feels good about it now.
NLID seems like you have been doing a lot of thinking. I really hope it pays off. you work so hard.
