Why oh why do i always forget about topcash back when i bid on ebay do you think it will count if i i have to up my max bid ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

whoa! didn't know about this. thanks. will try it for the camcorder.

    who likes good news?

    1. spoke to buyer about bike, lovely bloke, paid via paypal after we discussed courier options. He had considered sending it on a train but I advised against it, found a bike courier on ebay with almost 6000 positive feedbacks will pick up and deliver next day for only £21.50. gave him the details and he paid for the bike. he's booked it in for collection on monday at his cost so all I need do is pack (will try local bike shops for box or I have loads of smaller cardboard boxes which I'll split and join together) and drop off at parents for collection. happy days.

    2. as most of you know I'm trying to recover 5 and a half grand of PPI which I beleived was mis-sold to me. Well they had until tomorrow to respond and this morning in the post was a letter saying:
    ' dear sir

Thank you for your letter etc

    Firstly, let me apologise etc

Having reviewed your file and completed our investigations we have come to the concludion thst you WERE mis-sold your PPI and as a result we will be upholding your complaint.

to ensure we make correct level of payment, we require additional time to contact the lender and validate the amounts payable etc. please allow us ime to do this etc

    etc
    etc

    :D:D:D
now to pop to the ppi boards and ask if anyone has an idea how long this might take, unless someone here knows????

by my reckoning total PPI was about 5.5k plus statutory interest at 8% so around the 6k mark. Even if they try and argue that I had the policy for a year before paying the loan off it was a 5 year ppi on a 20 year loan so would still be 4.4k plus interest so just under 5k.
My sig my need drastically updated, may have all unsecured debt paid off before I turn 34 at the end of July. Then onto my secured monster.

Morning dribblers *wave* and welcome Greenpixie! Good luck with you extra money-making!

I'm at work today (everyone together... awwwww) and looks like the sunshine is bringing everyone out, I've been here an hour and a half and had more customers than I care to mention. Pfft, and here was me longing to sneak the crochet out of my bag when nobody was looking! :D

Some million light years ago one of the lovely dribblers mentioned a book or something which helped time management, splitting it in to half hour segments I think IIRC - anyone know who it was? I'd love a reminder on how it worked but not a hope of finding it in all the dribble threads!

Hope everyone's having a good day, I'd so love to be out there in the gorgeous sunshine!

    Yay, Cagne! WTG you!!!

Toots that sounds a lot like timeboxing to me. First came across it in software development where you have an absolutely immovable end date, so you just split the work up into chunks that end at that date and just do the best you can in that time. If you can't get it all done, then tough, you just change your expectations of the project. Flylady (in her proper form, not the form you will see on the OS board, which actually isn't Flylady at all and if she found them using her name for what they are doing they'd probably be in trouble) is all about 15 minute time boxes. However much you hate cleaning/ironing/dusting/doing your tax, you can do it for 15 minutes then STOP! If later on you choose to do another 15 minutes, that's great, but you have accomplished your task and you can feel good about it.

That's why my to do list constantly has 15 minutes of this, 15 minutes of that on it - I got into the habit through Flylady and it works. I allow myself a few minutes on the PC or having a coffee or something between the 15 minutes and I gradually nibble away at what I have to do.

    Morning Mabel! :-)

Having a lazy morning here. DH has taken DD to orchestra and then I'll join them for the concert later. Really needed just to chill for a bit as v. tired after being ill all week and having to keep going. Have done 15 minutes tidying the bedroom though ;-) and will go and do 15 minutes in the kitchen in a bit.
