hugs to anyone with depression. don't let JSP add to it. there are plenty of supportive voices out there too. probably more than there were 10 or even 5 years ago. she is out to be controversial thats what she gets paid for. try not to feed her.
come on here and feel the love instead.
more people will disagree with her than agree. can feel horrible seeing someone apparently invalidating a huge part of who you are and what you go through. but it doesn't. it shows her up for her own shallow ill informed views and anyone who agrees with her would most likely have been of that opinion anyway.
whilst I don't think this piece will help to challenge the mindset o people who don't recognise mental health problems. I also don't think it will turn previously sympathetic people into unsympathetic ones actually. I think it will actually turn them against what she is trying to say rather than onto it. all the way through it oozes self opinionated ill informed vibes which most people will recognise on one level or another.

Thank you so much 2cats and Jo re the flylady/time management posts. Think I'll take some time tomorrow to look at it properly. Flylady proper sounds like it's probably got me sussed, I feel like I always need to declutter....can anyone who knows about Debt management plans and who doesn't mind sharing tell me a bit about pros and cons. eg does it affect your mortgage if you have a house, does it affect credit rating, does it take ages and ages longer to clear debt?
don't really know what I want to ask but wanted to ask here before venturing on the other boards.

I'm afraid I probably can't say much, as the minute I got my DMP sorted out, my ex sold the house and I got enough in my share to repay all of my debts, so cancelled the DMP. The essence of a DMP is to figure out some kind of agreement to a) account for what you CAN afford to pay to your debts every month and b) split it sensibly between your creditors at a level they will agree. Gets the creditors off your back in the meantime. There is no obligation for a creditor to accept your offer, freeze the debt and not continue to charge interest, but 'most' of them do when a DMP is arranged by a creditable company. Don't faff about trying to figure out who's best - CCCS is FREE to use and in my experience were excellent. Downside? Depending on how much you have in the way of 'free' funds every month to use to pay your creditors, you might end up paying a tiny amount to each of them - one of the recommendations from CCCS while you're having problmes and pre-DMP, is if you can't afford to pay them what you should, then simply pay them £1. It's better than nowt, and at least shows the minimum of willingness, rather than ignoring the debt completely. The Debt Free board is full of information and 'generally' they're a helpful bunch. You get the odd twit who will gleefully tell you that your debt situation is your own stupid fault, but thankfully it doesn't happen often. If you think I can help any more than that, be it for yourself or someone else, I'd be glad to. HHH, this might be helpful for you to consider too...Afternoon!
I've got a trial tonight for this bar :j!! Start at 9.30.

thanks crafty but as my Debt relief order has been approved now theres no need for DMP for me. I am awaiting the certification from court which should be here by 26th may according to them which then tells me that i am no longer under obligation to pay the debts listed. It has been a huge relief that its nearly over.
No more credit for me ever (except a mortgage in 7 years time when my credit file is wiped clean):j:jDribbling my way to financial success:j:j

Hi everyone
Puppy is happy. His tablets are working as far as I can tell, his cough has gone and he is back to normal. Which is good!
OH's parcel came. £140s worth of computer stuff....he needed it though. And I find it so much easier to buy things for him then for me. Anyway, he started taking his old one apart at 2pm, I helped. By 10pm, we had blown up the old one, tripped the house twice and it still wouldn't turn on.
Another £100 down today, on new parts, but its working and he's happy. He wants a PT job to help financially, but I'd miss him so much...I'm feeling dreadful. Had a 'swig' of morphine last night as I was in so much pain, drank far too much so daredn't take any today.
More parents trouble, am really trying to stop caring...
Enough about meStill looking for something I can do from bed, have applied for AQA. And am doing Dooyoo again, or trying too. Designs By Elle is my dream, and I think about it all the time, but theres simply no room here
Good luck tonight NikkiAnd its good to see you back, Amber. I missed you posting.

Hope everyone is Ok Hugs to all.
Been poorly with tonsilitis for 4 weeks as was trying to work at the same time, but better now and ready to get back on the challenge.
Was 'away' from the boards and you've filled up 2 more threads !!!. So rather than trying to read through everything I have just read from the start of this one.
Good to see all everyone is still ploughing on with little money making bits here and there.
