I see what you mean, customers prefer it better if you leave it after payment though.

I agree. As a buyer it really annoys me when I pay immediately and the seller doesn't leave feedback until I have given them feedback. If everyone withheld their feedback until they received it there would never be any left at all.

as a buyer only on ebay
i look at the overall price item& postage, if i am happy to pay it i do
i never look to see what it has cost to get to me when it arrives, i know beforehand that the seller has to pay and roughly what it will be, and that they have ebay & paypal fees to pay, we are not fooled by cheap or supposed free postage, we know we pay one way or another or the seller would be out of business ASAP
i agreed the price before bidding/buying, i made an informed decision

and i have never looked to see what sellers leave me feedback or what it says
whats the point? its meaningless, i am buying goods not feedback
sellers have no option but to leave me platitudes
i am too busy and i am sure so are they too

i like a fairly swift and trouble free transaction
i'm not fussed if you mail to say its on its way, so long as it gets here i would rather you packed my item than spend time mailing me,
and i also take into account that i get a few parcels at once, bought over several days, yes my sorting office waits until they have a few to bring me them, so i dont mark down DSRs, i roll my eyes at royal mail instead

Ebay has long since changed and not for the good
thats why i stopped selling there
but its as bad for buyers now as sellers and no longer the great place to trade it once was, its fraught, on both sides

As a seller, I don't leave feedback until the buyer does, just because that can be the only way I know that they have received the item and are happy with it. For me, the transaction is still "live" until that point, so I don't feel I can leave feedback on the whole thing IYSWIM.

Also, until the buyer leaves feedback, I won't draw the money out of Paypal. I am finding more and more that buyers don't bother to leave feedback, and therefore can have large amounts sitting in Paypal that I am reluctant to draw.

I will mark down if the item is shipped in unsuitable packaging, for example, baby clothing in a brown envelope (non padded, just a paper envelope) or brown paper. I think it shoudl be changed to 'suitability of packaging' or something.

What do you want ? a blue envelope for boys and pink one for girls ?

Kind of what I was trying to say a few posts back!

I think she was meaning that a brown envelope is quite flimsy, and not very waterproof! For the record though I actually have some pink and some blue bags lol (in different sizes)- they were no more expensive than others!
