Just have to sell at below Ebay standard then...have sent the last 50 of my listings first class free post and within 15 hours of receiving payent and yet still being marked down for Dispatch time and postage and packaging !!?? WOTF !!
I will NOT be posting any feedback to whoever for what ever from now on
it has gone beyond a joke now - free first class postage and next day postage is not even enough now
- I am not Amazon and do not have their infrastructure or profits

I've been doing that for the past year and found that too.it has gone beyond a joke now - free first class postage and next day postage is not even enough now
I never send anything 1st class and my P&P never dips below 4.9 neither does my dispatch time0 -

Switch from free to undercharging postage, so if your postage costs £1.25, charge £1 for it, instead of including £1.25 in your selling price, just include 25p and then your buyers see you have knocked money off..0 -
It was advice from a Top Rated Seller;), for a little more...

I bow down to your wisdom as a top rated seller
but do you really think a buyer would notice a difference in 25p start price rather than first class next day free postage ? on one off items ?As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -

One thing to think about- they may not be marking you down on postage, but rather packaging.
Obviously I don't know how you send, but it might be worth thinking about. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -

It is generally about perceptions. If you pack well, address it nicely, add a compliment slip and a receipt, send dispatch emails, leave feedback first, etc, etc you get a happy customer, happy customers = repeat business = higher DSRs and higher visibility. It looks like a bit of a pain to do, but none of it takes a great amount of effort.
Buyers aren't too bothered if its a one off sale or a regular seller, they want an honest, trustworthy and friendly seller, if you can [STRIKE]con[/STRIKE] get them into believing you are then job done.;).0 -
For 'free' postage as Cyber said, your buyers know it is included in the price and you may have included too much for it, if you undercharge on the postage they're more inclined to believe you are honest.
Totally agree I frequently under charge for postage and put the difference on the Start proce or part of the BIN. Its trying to male people think they have a bargain0 -
I must just be lucky. I don't do most of that and my results are fine. Compliment slips? Address "nicely"?
Good products at good prices and ship quickly. Bingo.0 -
Yes I see what your saying - then its all about how far you are willing to bend over ?
as a buyer I could not give jack about a Compliment slip ( ? ) ,Address nicely ( I send mine out printed from word ) but as a buyer - as long as it gets here sharpish then good enough !
,I allways include a receipt with a hand written thank you, but Im not fussed if I just get a jiffy bag containing mobile phone and nothing else - it would not make me mark their stars any differently in postage and packing
Buyers are expecting the type of service that Amazon et al ( employing swaithes of people at minimum wage round the clock ) are providing, from your fundemental ma and pa Ebay sellers
And yes Ebid should enter here and offer a platform for these once Ebay mainstrays and stalwats, but what are now deemed to be to embarressments to EbayAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0
