    Go and check. It's not.

How would you be able to discover if the process was fair unless you were able to compare the scores? You are entitled to ask the company for the details and if they don't provide them you will have an easy ET claim.

    I don't need to check.
You are saying you can see the other possible candidates scores and that is 100% wrong.

The answer is you can't really ensure it is fair, because in my experience, it never is. They choose who they want and then make up the criteria to suit. There's not much you can do about that unless you can prove it.

My last company didn't believe it was a legal requirement to show the matrix. I was the only one selected for a redundancy process last year (from 5 doing the same job) and they refused to show me the group scores even anonymously, even though I made a specific request. So I didn't even find out whether the others were even scored. I discussed the whole process with a solicitor, but decided in the end it wasn't worth pursuing.

How would the employee be able to object to the application of the criteria without knowing the relative scores within the pool?

    just a quick query - i have 50 minutes!

If they offer me a voluntary package to go early, does that negate any change of going to ET if I feel that I have a case for it being unfair...

if you sign a compromise agreement it negates ET

you would not be expected to decide on that today and will usually get a paid hour with a solcitior

I think thats what they are going to offer - serve notice for termination next week, when i'm on holiday, or offer an extra week or so to go today...

It was all a bit of a farce,

company can't continue as is.... figures are poor.

marked on contribution to company and potential for future, and of the two (me and another person that do specifically the same job) I scored lowest.

That was about it.... I was expected to lead the discussion regarding alternatives / options etc.

Meeting ended with manager mulling the options, but said that it seemed inevitable and would be fairly immediate.

Have a follow up meeting at 3pm...
