i transfered my number to tesco from vodafone in march and i had the same problem i think it only took a day before i could chnge numbers and ring the tesco lines it wasnt very long 24-48hrs i think hope that helps

The only downside I can see with Tesco Mobile is the data charge but I hardly use that - only tended to use it when it was free on Orange (following a top-up) as the charges were too high.
Do you know if Tesco has any free pages to connect to - similar to the free Orange World pages or are you paying every time you connect?
I have had a cople of texts from Tesco with links to a couple of pages with "special seasonal offers". Ok, didnt get charged for visiting, but then again the pages were crap!!!! Work on the basis that you have to pay for everything.0
