Hello,
Although I have been a 'lurker' for many years now, I almost never post. I could do with some advice please from all the kindly souls on the forum!
I have a lovely Volvo V70 to sell. As much as I love the car, we have had to replace it with something bigger (my husband has two teenagers, I have a baby and a toddler!) But nobody seems to want to buy it.:(
- Its been on autotrader for nearly six weeks (and gumtree)
- I've checked guides like parkers or Glass'es to make sure were not being greedy
- It really is in good nick
- I've put the word out amongst family/friends
- There's a 'for sale' sign in the car window
What else do I need to do?
Is it worth spending loads extra to keep putting in classified ads in local paper/e-bay etc.
Hope somebody may have some useful advice, although I may not be able to check in until later!

Has it a decently long MOT?
What mileage is on it?
Petrol or diesel?
Interior Trim?
Bodywork condition?
What year, etc?
If its got a long MOT and reasonable miles then your issue is price. How much have you it in for?
Also, stick it onto pistonheads.com and gumtree - both are free0 -
MOT until April 2011, Tax Sept 2010
True, mileage is high 118,000
Petrol, estate, Yreg,
Lovely inside, bodywork v.good
On for £2,995
Thanks for thought on petrolheads, hadn't considered that.0 -
Sorry, meant pistonheads0

No joy from gumtree either0

With the price of fuel rocketing, i think peeps are thinking seriously about what they drive. The V70 is a nice motor but maybe a bit slurpy for some.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

If it isn't selling, it's too expensive.0

Too pricey I think
Heres a similar one with similar miles on autotrader from a dealer for £2250

Very similar, although our is the 2.4 170bhp. Silver, cream interior.
I suppose its all very well using Parkers or Glasses or whatever, but they are only a guide afterall. And irrelevant if nobody's buying!!
I guess dropping the price is the best option (slightly galling htough) it's a lovely lovely car that I'm rather sad to part with...0 -
V70 is a lovely car and not even run in yet
118k on a volvo is absolutly nothing. The 2.4 is good for at least 250k if looked after.
Have you considered http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/
Probably the best place to try and sell it. I assume its not the 7 seater ?
Shame its not a T5 or I'd be interested as the only thing i would swap my 225bhp S60 for is a T5 V70.
Good luck.0
