    I know you pay more to do it but you might consider renewing your tax for six months and then twelve months thereafter. That way you shouldn't have the same issue in the future and end up sounding a bit pathetic.

    Of, failing that, sell your car and stay indoors.

    No, the problem seems to be that the OP wants to tax their vehicle online but can't. The 6month/12 month option would actually resolve this issue and the price would be a small one to pay for convenience.
