Am I stealing your thunder PN?;) I had to get it in quick. Plus, with an inkling as to who the OP could've been (though damn him for not using my phenomenally excellent suggestion for a username, which when he does use will result in tons of thanks from the jelly).
On drinking, I virtually never drink now. Simply cos I am a wuss & it makes me bad. I always have been. Half a lager & I'm anybody's. Most of it tastes really bad imo. I don't see the point if you're not going to like it.
...
Hardly? You told me you were teetoal. Now I'm all offended you didn't want to risk a drink.
There is no point drinking anything if you do not like the taste. If you like the taste drinking responsibly is grand. I do not miss being drunk. I had a drink of a fairly rancid irish cream) last night as I was a little ''taut'' and thought it might help me sleep. It of course did the opposite, which meant I had to endure watching Waterworld and then the news in America on BBC 24.0 -

I haven't had a drink in well over 12 months now. I don't like most alcoholic drinks. More than anything else, I don't like drunk people. I'm not a strict teetotaller, but I do use the phrase sometimes as it is easier than explaining that I can't recall the last time I had a drink, never get the urge to have one etc.
Apologies lir, I didn't mean to mislead you. How about classing me as a Virtual teetotal?:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Did I pick up on some debate as to whether LJ is he/she? If that debate still rages, then I imagine the above must clarify it!
You did. Actually, it isn't a debate. Moreso that some assume me to be male, others assume me to be female.
Me being the hilarious character that I am (ha ha) I've never confirmed either way.
How do you feel this confirms it nick? Go on...nail your colours to the mast...;)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Still offended. I bet you'd risk half a pint if wageslave were here in her boots.
I miss wageslave.0 -

I miss wageslave.
Please don't be offended lir. After a half I'd be so wired I'd possibly be more likely to attempt to come & watch you cleaning the house!;)
I miss wageslave too - where is she?
Loads of posters I miss. purch is around less. the ash the oak always had interesting points. Plus loads more. I'm not gonna list them all as no doubt I'd miss people off & don't want to offend anyone. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Only some are gone. Some are around less (viva, treliac, fc123 - always love reading her insightful postings, Inspector Monkfish & so many more).
started on here 13 months ago. Regularly there used to be well over 30 posters in the day. Frequently struggles to get to 20 now. I hope after the GE it'll perk up a little, with more economic debate.
I must say that this board used to be a phenomenal place where I learned so much. I still do learn stuff. But preferred debating rather than name calling which appears prevalent now...:(It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I'd always thought you to be female - or rather that you seemed feminine (I had a gender expert girlfriend, and the differentiation was drummed into me). Suffice to say, I've never known a straight man say "half a lager and I'm anybody's." Particularly not in the sense that it's a bad thing!
There you go, as requested - colours on the mast. No doubt hugely politically incorrect to make such assumptions, but it's human nature.0 -

I'm back.... I've been on holiday. I didn't tell people I was going as it was the same time as the ash cloud and it didn't look as though I was going until the very last minute. Looks like I got back just in time as well. I'll be back for the sparkling wit and economic chat when I've got through the 1500 spam e-mails that have arrived since I've been gone. No rest for the wicked...
Oh, and hello new OP, or possibly old new OP depending on peoples points of view, or so it seems. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
