The most useless beauty products I ever bought....

For me foundations. I've never found one that suits my skin tone. I remember on several occasions buying 2 Clinique ones at approx £20 each, as I needed different shades for winter, and summer. They made me look like I was wearing a mask.
I use light-reflecting concealer, and translucent powder instead now.0 -
More stuff straight in the bin:
Elf line pencils (Brightening Eyeliner), coffee. Too hard and simply did not work.
Elf Nail Files: good if you need disposable nail files to use once...
However other products are ok, I like the cuticle pen and some of the brushes, particularly the Kabuki brush (can't compare with other brands as I haven't used anything else on these).0 -

I don't know about anyone else but I think its kinda normal to need different shades throughout the year, you tan in the summer and not so much in the winter, then theres the different environmental conditions- air con up to the max in summer and harsh windy cold air in the winter...I think I can get away with using compacts in the summer months but if I try this in the winter it looks like I have flakey skin! (which I probably do but never really see unless highlighted by a matte compact).
I find I can actually get away with one of Cliniques shades (palest one) in the summer as my skin 'tans' enough to do this but try it in the winter and I look like I went slap happy at the cosmetics counter! (So glad for Boots points as this is how I am able to afford this stuff- this would be my TOP BEAUTY PRODUCT: Boots Advantage points
)
There is a foundation (Rimmel? Max Factor?) where you can switch the dial throughout the year to get the correct shade but TBH it sounds too much like hard work doing a colour match each week! I have never tried this- has anyone else had any luck?0
