Good luckfor tonight Lucielle - we had a very scrummy potato and chickpea curry with loads of basmati rice ( a favourite with the boys which is always handy and mega cheap to boot)
Got both boys in the bath (which means the floor is probably awash!!!), so got tim efor a quick ramble.
Been looking at how many of my books I've got in the loft - I've got about 300 of each (I've written 2 and we get given them when they are reprinted) Now they retail at £10 each or 2 for £15 as "Back of room sales" after seminars. Thats a lot of books I could sell at a profit - if I could find a way of marketing them - so thats my plan for this evening, to come up with as many ideas for selling my books as possible.
populating a mind map as we speak - but feel to chip in and help this brainstorming - the wackier idea the better. Lets see who can come up withth emost off the wall suggestion - LOL>
Off to wash some hair

I think those books sound great- but why not at a seminar have a bit of fun?
Bear with me here- i saw a similar idea on a show somewhere but i love it.
Buy a decent bottle of champagne- attach to the top of the cork lots of raffle tabs on a string- each one to buy at a decent price- say somewhere between £5- £10- The one around the cork wins the Champagne and a book- the others all get a book. You can attach up to about 100 if you are careful and everyone is a winnerI think you have to put some sort of cup over the top so no one can see where the winning string is- but i thought it a great idea for a charity raffle and often wonder how i can turn it into something else.
You could use it as a starter to warm up the folks as they will be getting the books at a bargain price.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
I wondered if you could do some tutoring work next year MG, seeing the success you've had with your friends' kids? Might be a nice way to earn some extra cash on the side for the mortgage and you could sell some books to their parents:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

This is an excellent idea! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Memory Girl are you on facebook ? Some of my friends from a crafting forum have links to their 'shops' on there - could you sell some books that way maybe ?Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0
