I'm going to be brave and delurk for a minute to say thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread - its certainly been enlightening and after having a bad start following reading the Secret (maybe the Universe was trying to tell me there was no way I was getting that dress - it certainly wouldn't have gone with my bandaged knee) I now feel that I'm back on track and have just found a Mind Map book on the bookshelf - something which I had asked the Universe to find me on on my to do list.

MG - you are doing an amazing job I really enjoy seeing your positive outlook and hope some of it will rub on to me at some point.

Yes you are crazy, but it's working for you so carry on:beer:

I've had a good cupboard sorting session and found far to much pasta and flour. I am going to try and cut back on meat by using said pasta and making pies with flour. August is going to be a store cupboard use up month. This long term planning takes a lot of planning.

    Or am I just crazy???

Totally barking mad - but it helps if you would like to keep the friends from this thread. One small comment though.

The doing house up project sounds to me as a really big job that could fill much of the hundred days on its own. If I were you, I'll concentrate on building respectable income streams first - you might be able to comfortably live on royalties and training programmes soon, the Universe willing. When this happens you could either do all this work yourself (if it is your heart's desire) or have someone do it. Ingenuity is highly comendable but we need focus as well.

BTW, all my PhD students find loads of decorating/childcare/anythings else to do when the time to write their theses comes. It is a well know displacement technique.

The ciabatta was great - loads of points with nine year son, twenty seven year step son and OH. If I only remembered to oil the bowl it we probably would not have had to peal the paper off it - or even eat it with the paper. Next time I'll remember. Thanks for this MG.

When I was doing up my living room last autumn, I split the work that needed doing into individual tasks and put a time next to them so I could schedule some jobs for the evening (paint skirting board 1 hour) and leave some jobs for the weekend (wallpaper back wall 4 hours). Doing this also meant I could tell if I actually had enough time to finish it by November or whenever I wanted it for.

To report back on my first week of the challenge, it has gone pretty well.
I have lost three pounds (weight) and emptied several boxes and rehoused the contents either where they should be or in the bin.
I was rewarded this morning by finding the telephone. A while back we bought a new house phone with two handsets so we didn't need to keep running up & down the stairs & then promptly lost one but virtue was rewarded this morning when I found it behind a chest of drawers.
I was rewarded again today when a neighbour came round and offered me her granddaughter's second stage car seat for my GS saving me God knows how much on a new one.

So many inspiring posts within this diary both from MG and others - you are all doing so well! I'm on the de-clutter mission too at the moment, alongside getting healthy and debt repayment. It's nice having some goals. Been taking notes whilst reading!!

LOL - I expect it's because they look so innocent! I'm a Christian so I tend to come across all sorts of 'religious' people and they can be far from the stereotypes we get in the media. :D
Great about your next £125 too! This is really gaining some momentum. :) I never saw it coming so quickly but you seem such a focused person that I shouldn't be surprised. :)
I've just read your menu planning post btw: how do you find the space for all the food?! I have just discovered AF for myself and may end up having to inprove my storage, LOL. We have a small kitchen and three teenagers! And (sorry so many questions!) could you give me an idea what goes well in lentil lasagne please? I am guessing tinned tomatoes, onion, celery, maybe bell peppers... do you pre-cook the lentils?
Will go and catch up with your later posts - hope I haven't pre-empted anything.

I have 2 large plastic boxes with lids that I use to store dry stuff (rice, pasta, flour, noodles etc)

And I have one of those 5 wire drawers in a metal frame things that captures all the packets n tins.

My kitchen has the "current open stuff" in it alongside the fridge freezer and the chest freezer.

Whenever I finish a packet - I "shop from home" and bring a new one through from my stores. When I get down to the last one in the stores - well by then things have usually come on offer again and I replenished my stocks IYSWIM?

These 3 storage items are in a walk-in cupboard off my bedroom - but I'm thinking of building some doors on the understairs area and moving them through to there.

Bear in mind though that my 2 are 2 and 9 - so I'm not feeding teenagers here - so my storage space could be considerably less than you need. I long for a pantry however!!! How very OS of me - LOL.

Lentil lasagne is red lentils, garlic, Italian herbs, grated carrot, celery and mushroom with a good slug of red wine to "deepen" the flavour. If it tastes a bit "thin" I have been known to throw an Oxo cube in too.

Sorry Memory Girl - youir'e officially crazy - everyone agrees:rotfl:

Helen - l like your idea of actually giving yourself a time to do something rather than make a list and hope you can do stuff. Better to finsih one job that make a mess of a dozen because your rushing. I like that :T

My weight not brilliant - that dream of galaxy and paprika crisps got the better of me and l nibbled - a lot - twice :o

Any way tomorrow is a fresh start to the week and am full of hope that its going to be a good one.

    Take care all xxx Moooooooooooooo:A
