Hi everyone I have been following this thread since nearly day one and have finally decided to stop lurking and join in the fun!!!! lol

Ok so ill start by telling you all a bit about me; seems only fitting as I feel I know you all sooooo well.........

I live with my partner (who really is amazing!) in a small (mortgaged) 2bed bungalow. We have a 4 1/2 month old daughter who we are both absolutely besoted with. My partner works very hard and often only has 1day a week to spend as 'family time'; he doesnt earn a lot at the mo as hes only training and has 2more years before he qualify's. I do have a job but am currently off with DD.

We are keeping heads above water and only debt we have is the mortgage; but im desperate for us to save save save as much as poss and to pay mortgage off quicker so we can move back closer to friends and family. We bought this house as it was in a village that is much cheaper than where we want to be and hoped we would make a little bit on this one doing it up.

I also want us to start being a lot more frugal as I will be going back PT; this will be a bit more of a struggle as I am the main earner :o. Partner works so much hours (wage stays the same regardless ; which is a massive bummer. but in the grand scheme of things hes lucky to be in a job!!)

I basicaly just wanted to say you have all inspired me to start recording my NSD, meal plan and I'm going to the local library 2mz 2get the secret and find out what its all about :T

Anyhow enough of my ramblings for now!!! lol

Welcome aboard ILGPink - sounds like you've already got a plan for your future worked out - stay and play a while - and chip in whenever you feel inspired to.

I wonder how many other "secret lurkers" we've got out there???

..................I'm hoping there is a Publisher or a Speakers Agent out there who will share their pearls of wisdom:rotfl::rotfl:

Come on then everyone - who is the one person that if you werein contact with could help you uncover teh "golden nugget" that would catapult you to your dreams????

............ erm George Clooney and Johnny Depp alredy taken:rotfl::rotfl:

Wey hey, I finally managed to catch up to the end. I found your thread a couple of days ago and have been reading it avidly between jobs. It is so witty and inspiring. Thanks everybody. I am a glass half full kind of person, always have been except I fell off the wagon last year (but there were good reasons) and have been getting really annoyed with myself recently for being such a procrastinator. I have always been good at setting myself targets and keeping to them, I love lists, I have always been frugal (in the best way of course). So I couldnt understand why I couldnt even kick myself up the behind. I knew I had just about had enough but couldnt find my way out of the long dark tunnel.Who switched the light off in the first place? In the past I had read about cosmic ordering (Noel Edmonds:eek:) and had tried it by writing down that wanted a car by X (hadnt driven for 20 years, had no money to buy a car and thought it would be laugh to prove that it was a stupid theory) Well, the car arrived, I had refresher lessons, was moved to a job that required lots of driving and could not believe it. Recently I was asking for some kind of help to get motivated, found Knitwits diary which mentioned yours and - here I am. Since starting to read your thread I have dusted off my breadmaker. Made fresh bread every day, spiced fruit loaf for my breakfast and now have the next weeks meals planned from my storecupboard. Would love to join the 100 day challenge but I need to think about that one. I joined the wake up challenge but soon fell off that wagon too (mostly because I found this thread and became engrossed).

Sorry for long post. I am now subscribed and waiting for the first chapter of your book. It puts me in mind of Bridget Jones and maybe how she would handle life in your situation.

There is a great one at Tayport which is not that far from you.

Been lurking all weekend and you have inspired me to get out breadmaker and to do menu planning etc. Will be doing that on Wednesday on my next day off. I am over the water from you not far from the park you take the kids

Yeah!! thats the one I was thinking - the other one at Crail is a little too exposed to the wind formy liking.

Good luck tomorrow on your planning - and I will wave at you from the bridge the next time we head over your way

MG, you know the drill - the first page and the jacket.

Hi Mg, I think in your book you should have your saving tree, colour the leaves idea. Problems can seam huge but you have a way of finding easy steps like your 15 mins bursts. I think this would help loads of people learn to plan ahead.
Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it

    Afternoon gang :hello:

MG, I agree with Knitwit, and if not a page that you colour in yourself, then at least an illustration. Sometimes it can be so difficult to visualise things.
I would also to see your recipes, I have read most of the Patricia Cornwell books and always thought that the food cooked by Kay Scarpetta sounded good, I know that a Kay Scarpetta's Kitchen cookbook has been published, but I've never bothered to buy it as it felt like a moneymaking spin-off.

I'm pleased to report that my work area in my 100 day challenge is proceeding well.

What I would like is a book that reassures people that it is possible to have an interesting fulfilling life on hardly any money. If you read magazines or Sunday papers these days it is all about spending money (possibly due to the advertisers requirements) so that if you don't have any money you can end up sitting at home depressed doing nothing.
I have always tried to find things to do with the family that don't require money and it seems you do the same.
So plenty of how you can eat well, have a social life, entertain and educate your children on a shoestring etc.

I also always really like the personal element and if you hit them with the 77p & 3 nappies story on the first page you should grab them.

Hello there, have managed to read the whole diary in one sitting (am off sick with a kidney infection :(, but decided to use at home time for something positive... am so glad I did, this is such a fantastically positive and well written, warm account :T:T:T. Well done you.

I do think negative mindsets hold people back, and having suffered from depression in the past, it is something i try and stay away from. Anyway, I'll be following with interest - and taking action too! Have decided to do my own 100 day challenge - to clear 10 things a day from the house as we are having our loft converted soon, and *someone* appears to have stuffed it full of toot... oh, that'll be me then :o! Not quite the standard of your 100 things in a day, but as I work full time, I think getting rid of 1000 things will be a major achievement for me :j:!
