PS If I don't appear back on here again by tea-time send out the sniffer dogs

If my experience of the filing day is anything to go by - tie a piece of string to the door handle and the oher end to your hand - that way you can always find your way out. But I'll prepare Cloot & Diego as sniffer dogs just in case.

I'm off to make a chickeny thing in the slow cooker today - I am trying to use it and if I can get into the hang of this before I go back to work then life will be much easier (& cheaper as no carry outs will be required). And having tea sorted before DH comes home means that I'm not stressing in case I'm not up to cooking so that's an added bonus.

Anyway - good luck today on the paperwork - and yay to the guest bedroom that's sorted

You have so many things going on again today. Good luck. By all means pinch away from my signature.

We are not in debt apart from the mortgage, but i am petrified that now we have this new coalition government that things are going to go belly up for us.

I'm a SAHM since last September, and have a 2 and 3 year old. Things are very tight on one wage although i have paid the mortgage down by nearly £1500 this year already in overpayments.

Any idea i can beg or borrow along the way from this thread and others are a big help. The way i see it is if i stick my head in the sand and not worry about it now i will end up in debt when things go up in price again. It is a really scary thought.

Thanks for sharing your progress. It is inspirational.

    I've escaped - just for a Brew Up:D Honest!!:rotfl:

Well I have also managed to put on a load of washing, do the washing up that I found around the house - Oh Yes! and log on here - LOL

Its funny - but the office hasn't turned out ot be as bad as I thought.

    By the time I moved:

The bedside tables into the Guest Room
    ...........and the lamps

DS Toy box back into his room

Baby's blocks and table and chairs back in to the livingroom.

The ironing basket, iron and irongin board back to the "cupboards in the lobby" - anyone else got one of those LOL.

The Charity Shop bag onto the buggy ready for a run into town

and the two bin bags of rubbish out into the bin ..............

I could actually get into the door:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mind you I haven't touched the Paperwork Mountain yet. I'm off to put up a big cutting table in the middle of the room to sort through everything.

    Fingers crossed

"I may be gone some time"

    Memorygirl

PS "Chicken Thing" is a common slowcooker dish in our house and it's never the same way twice - LOL

This could have been me writing Michelle;) Even though I am on basic benefits I have managed to squirrel away a few bits n bobs to pay down the mortgage. I really need to get back to work to make a serious dent in it though - but the whole, Administration, repossession stuff has kept me fairly busy TBH.

I figure if I can manage to find a way to survive on the very basics - then when I get back to work I should be able to sock away all the rest and create a more secure future for me and the boys.

The £100 Challenge came about - well partly becasue of whopping car repair bills - but mostly as a "shake yourself up girl" challenge to myself to get busy and put into practice all those things I should be doing to make a big difference in the future.

The good news is that DS has cottoned out that its a game - so the first thing he asks when I get him from school is "have you had to spend any money today???"

Better get back into the office so that I can clear a creative space to write a cracking "Best-seller":rotfl:

Hi, what sort of books do you write, I thought you should write a book when I first read your diary. You could write a fantastic chic lit based on your life, your humour comes across really well. Thanks also to Clootiesmum. I have some turkey marinading (the end of 3 jars, fingers crossed) , I think I will go for the slow cooker option with some tinned tomatoes. Is it just mine but it's not very slow. Worst thing from slowcooker, liver and onions, came back from work, liver soup yuk, we live and learn, Best wishes everyone
Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it

Deal! But I'll warn you after 2 years feeding the baby I am way out of practice. But I love a Martini - dry and dirty.

I also love what Dorothy Parker says " I love a Martini, but two's my limit. With two I'm under the table, with three I'm under the host":rotfl:

She's such a "Bad Girl" role model.

Back to my green tea I suppose - LOL

    :eek:Liver Soup!!!! Shudders:eek:

Never thought of Chic Lit:D Mind you I used to run a nightclub that was a drag cabaret in Soho. Let's just say now that the Conservatives are in I might, just might have some slightly incriminating photos of some of the new cabinet - LOL;)

As my moniker suggests - I actually wrote books on Mind Mapping, Memory, Study Skills and Speed Reading - about as far from Chick Lit n scandal as you can get I think.

But I'd love to write a book called "Interchangeable Blondes" about an old Boss of mine who I used to have dinner with every Wednesday - and every Wednesday there was a different "lady friend" on his arm. Got to the stage I never did bother to learn their names - just used to refer to them as the "interchangeable Blondes":p

Meanwhile back inthe real world - the real story that should be written is fighting back after being left withh "71p and three Nappies" by the Bank. A real tea-bag story - cos you never know how strong a woman is until you dunk her in hot water.

On that note - taking my brew upstairs again into the paperwork pit.

    Cheerie Bye

Just whizzed up your hoummous recipe - 2 batches. 1 normal and one with lemon and coriander as i had it in. How tasty. :D I've stuck 2 tubs in the freezer and one in the fridge. DS2 didn't seem to mind it but DS1 refused to even have a taste. I think i might have overdone it on the garlic though. I had 250g of chickpeas, so i used 5 cloves of garlic thinking it would be ok. I'm full of cold but i can taste it. Was i supposed to cook the garlic or use it raw?

Oh well. As long as i like it. It will do as a sandwich filling for me for a while. Better than the cheese i keep going for.

I usually use the garlic raw - but we like it garlicky. Ease back the next time if too strong for him - or try it with roasted garlic instead. Just throw a couple of cloves of garlic on the tray when you are doing roasties or something inthe oven - then when they go soft n squishy squeeeze the pulp out and use. It makes for a much softer taste.

Mind you the baby has just eaten my "snack" portion with a spoon so I think I might need to double up on the quantities next week :o. Was looking forward to having that tomorrow night with "Ashes to Ashes" - well with veggie dippers but you know what I mean??

Have you tried hummous and grated carrot in a sandwich - sounds odd but its pretty tasty. I like hummous and those little rocket-fuel radishes that I grown in the garden.

    Just a chick-pea addict - LOL.

Office still looks like a bombs hit it - but I did find my desk. Just need to go through the paperwork with a three file system. Do, Ditch, Delegate. Might try to get another hour in after the baby is in bed.

Just got the duvet cover to iron and Guest2 room is squared up - although I also need to find a spare lightbulb for the bedside lamp whilst I'm up there. Still at least he now has somewhere to sleep.

Need to have a think about a filing system that will work for me if I'm working from home doing different projects - I'll mull over that whilst Igo and get DS from his dancing.

Later girlies - and guys if any want to make themselves known of course.
