    Hi Memory Girl

Have read your complete Make do and mend and it is truly inspiring stuff. Took me 3 days but not a wasted moment.:A What a positive bubbly personality you have and such an amazing cook - your boys are truely blessed.

I have recently put up my own diary and so have a quite a few problems to sort out but love this forum.

I just love it that you manage to get such great bargains and tackle your home whilst rearing the 2 boys. The great buys of the ice cream and ravioli maker - fantastic.

Also love the idea of the 1000 x 124 :money:

Definately do write the book - l would love to buy it - l could see it a best seller on this site and l am sure Martin would endorse it for you as you practic all that he preaches and much more.

How is the funding for your sons place going - its such a lot of money?

Could l also start your 100 day challenge ?

Money - My aims would be for to reduce grocery spending down and increasing payments to our CCs.

Weight - well l am hefty girl and have lost 13 lbs this year so far (I am a yo yo dieter the worst kind). I am a fraction under 16 stone (today) so l would like to lose a stone and a half if l could.

House - De clutter (ebay never done it before) get organised. Decorate cheaply

Crafts - Start on finishes my projects and use some of them as Christmas pressents.

Money - Part 2 - Do comps, ebay, Market research - find out ways to increase my income.

I plan on starting tomorrow as today have to go out and nothing is done - house is a tip :(

PS Told my DH about the £100 challenge but his petrol is almost £50 a time every 7-10 days (only got an old small expensive (garage bills) to run banger) but he has to drive me to and from work every day so costs a lot. Can l exclude that from the challenge ?

Anyway must dash - take care all xxx

    Good morning Memorygirl,

I love your thread, you are so motivated,I am sadly not so motivated. Could I join in you challenge please? There are thing I want to acheive, a new job being one of them.

*To get a new job, or at least have made steps to acheiving this.
*To pay £1000 off my total debt.
*Take a photo or two everyday for the 100 days.
*To complete a 100 house/garden/allotment task that I have been putting off.

Enjoy your coffee with the girls.

    purple_angel.x

Oh!!! Purple_angel - that is such a good idea. To take 100 jobs you've been putting off and to do one per day - imagine how lovely your home could be if you got into the habit of dong one thing per day.

    Brilliant:j:j

Coffee was really good - Best Friend had a voucher for a free one which she gave me to use - so I was well on target for a NSD........ then we walked home through the Farmers Market!!!!!!!. And I bought a huge cauliflower for 90p.

So this week we will have

Cauliflower and pea curry - with roti and raitha
Cauliflower risotto - with parmesan and wilted rocket leaves
Cauliflower n veggie bake (mixed veg in cheesy sauce topped with shredded crispy potato)
Cauliflower, potato and blue cheese soup with ciabatta bread
Cauliflower and pasta bake with new roasted potatoes.

All of the other ingredients are in my storecupboard / freezer.

I think I now have reached "critical mass" - where I have enough "storecupboard" ingredients that I can lash out a whole 90p on a cauliflower and think - well that will do us the best part of a week for dinners.

Food budget finally under control - only time will tell???

hi Memory Girl - i have been a lurker on MSE for the last no of years and read a lot of the debt diaries but I have to say yours is very inspirational. I am not in debt as such myself but trying to live an MSE lifestyle and cook from scratch etc.

I wanted to ask what is 'mind mapping' I have been given a copy of the secret to read but to my shame I didnt read it, will have to rectify that error. I am trying to be positive in my outlook' ask, believe, receive is my motto. I am going to write my wish list NOW as you only have to do so and you get what you want.,,,,,;)

    All the best

MG, about training and Doctoral and staff development in Universities. Have you come across an organisation called Vitae? If not please have a look here http://www.vitae.ac.uk/policy-practice/

Well worth approaching because most training officers from the British Universiites are involved.

Hi Moobear - you set the rules to suit yourself. I found that the main point of teh £100 challenge was to make me question EVERYTHING I was spending - and the very process of being aware meant that I didn't slip into the unconscious spending.

My petrol during termtime is cashflow neutral because I take a car-load to school every day and the parents chip in to cover my fuel - but it did make me question thos "runaround" days that we often find ourselves doing.

Good luck on your challenges BTW.................

    and...............................

............................. well I have now well and truly been backed into a corner by my girlfriends. They have chalenged me to produce the outline and at least the first three chapters of the book .......... BY NEXT SATURDAY.:eek::eek:

Having said that - one of them is going to pitch the idea to a TV show she has been working with:j:j. But don't ask because she wouldn't tell me who:mad:

But face it - that is too big an opportunity to miss - so thank goodness my weeks shopping is now done (the cauliflower) cos I am going to be a busy busy bee.

Forwards - to getting off benefits and achieving my 100 Day Goals:T:T

My Mentor was talking to one of clients - sharing news of their latest "boys toys" - new note-books.

His client then asked him "out of the blue" - (but we know that really wasn't the case, don't we???) "Did he know anyone who could really use his old laptop?" Well of course - he did, and I am soo chuffed. A computer with a space bar and all of the keys :j:j

He's married though - so he's not THE Guy :)

Good - Universe or not, you are a very capable and powerful woman. Never forget this. And yes you can tackle the world - in fact you have been doing this for sometime.

BTW, I am feeling very alive at the moment as well. I suspect the Secret is helping in a not so mistical ways - training yourself to think positive thought does increase your capacity to deal with situations and to see opportunities where there were none before.

After reading the Vitae website, let me know what you think - I have a rather serious way in.

Enjoy your Saturday - I am off for a run, some more press ups and then a meeting about the bookey.
