Olive! Just read your post from yesterday about being fired up with enthusiasm to help the orphanage after the offers you received on here - how absolutely wonderful. I think thats one of the most spectacular things I've heard.....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hopefully I'm going to have wifi so I can be online in the evenings. That would be great - how would I do without my dose of good news from this thread? Think I am checking it about 4x a day atm!!Firewalker wrote: »Look after yourself, Lara - will be thinking of you. Any problems (with the technicallities of fieldwork) - get in touch. I mean it.

Will try this when we are doing the kitchen - probably late next year when the Universe delievers big time. For the next few days I have moved in Little Boy's roam and sleep on a futon with him - he loves it; and I love it - no dust, confy futon and lots of cuddles.

FW -There you go you have found your own solution. And I am sure your DS thinks it a wonderful adventure. I am sending positive vibes that your friends provide the solution to the meal problem over the weekend. Not sure how far you are from the city but when we had no cooker for a week we used a lot of Mr T Deals and ate out as a treat until we could cook again0 -
MG, now that you are over 4000 posts, you will need to start sorting out a new thread as this one will be closed as it gets too big.
Might be an appropriate time to do it now as you embark on success of ginormous proportions
Thats a really good point - OK Guys! What do you fancy our brand spanking new thread be called???

How about "Memory Girl's Awfully Big Adventure"? (If you remember your Peter Pan, that's what life is. Plus, I can never resist a play on words!)0

Hi FireWalker - I am a high aspergers scorer too, and I have made my very own little autie boy. I think as long as you are self aware (which you clearly are) then you will find a solution to the things that worry you. Obviously you can't control your environment while the builders are there but you've already found a lovely space with your little boy, it sounds so snuggly and comforting!
Thanks Hypno for those techniques. I get very affected by other people's feelings and needs and need my own safe "head space". I will try those out. I really want to get back into the work place but seriously one of my biggest worries is that it (well, the people) will sap all my energy away and I'll end up being tired and miserable (and therefore rubbish at my "proper" job - being mummy extraordinaire :rotfl:)! The bubble idea is great. I will try it out when the boy is having one of his tantrums.
Can I ask a question? I have a son in mainstream school but with extra help. I want to go back to work so therefore need childcare. He has anxieties (about places and food mainly) which mean that a regular childminder wouldn't be right for him. Where do I look for someone to watch him after school?? I have decided to contact Social Services on Monday to see if they can help at all but I wondered if anyone here has any experience of this?
Also, regarding the challenge, I'm not sure if I've had my Tipping Point as such. I've certainly had them in relationships but I don't think I have with regards to money. And I have been POOR.I will continue to have a think.
Sorry for the long post.
Is your broadband sorted now, MG?0 -
