I'm back
You didn't miss me did you? To busy chatting
So I've sped-read to catch up
:j WOW Claireto violins, neighbours, positive moods, burgeoning businesses and The Matrix
 to poor internet connections
Well so much has happened since I was last on-line, and I personally have moved 180 degrees from where I was then!I made a throwaway remark to someone who was coming to my neck of the woods sort of asking her to bring football tops for the children in the orphanage where I have been teaching the office staff book-keeping. Her response led to other suggestions and I started looking at ways to maximise the offers I was getting. As I was weighing tops and calculating postage I began to think.:think:
The thinking grew………
I have been impressed by the dynamism of this thread, but felt it wasn’t for me. I have no hunger to run my own business, and indeed no business ideas and no base from which to do so,but what if I could plug into these ideas for somebody elses business, i.e. the Orphanage……
Last night using MG’s book and a notepad but sadly only blue biro no colours, I made my very first Mindmap.I even woke at 3.30 am to make additions – my mind was racing with ideas. Today I went to the Orphanage and presented my thoughts and they were greeted very enthusiastically.
Our very first task is to create a web-site. None of us is techie. (I’m with Parsniphead, the F5 key is just so cool!) But we are having a big launch of this web-site at a party at our house in November.
This morning we put down what we want the web-site to have, and organised the catering for 13th November and the entertainment. That was the beginning of Day 1
Yesterday morning my only goal had been to cover the financial black hole they have at their year end. -They have to have no money in the bank otherwise their grants are reduced in line with the balance, however the government struggles with cashflow and this year their grants arrived some 10 weeks into the new year  Now in my year allocated to this I am aiming for further branches of this Orphanage in other townships. (Sadly there is a need) with access to much funding and staff training from the UKDifficult to explain what I mean - but the web-site will do that.
Thank-you all, I think I have my Mojo back :A0 -
What a night of catch up reading, slept in this morning, surprisingly
it was the first time in years, but not feeling guilty, it feels strangely like it was all meant to happen :rotfl:
Well done to the Marathon Entrants and Good Luck!
Hypno - that was super ace thing for you to do
MG - glad the lappy is working, sorry the BB is now giving out problems
clairewop - amazing story coming on of your own going on here, Well Done :T
ClootiesMum - Yes Aiberdeen areaAiberdeenshire aboot 25 miles West of the City (in get snowed in country!)..
Have now mostly caught up, was already into "The Secret", read about "the footballer", btw MG would you class this challenge as the big cheque you were expecting too LOL.. for others wanting to catch the Mr Big Story from the start, I think I went back to about P180
Have found the Blog, challenges etc. so am going to play along but have serious gaps to fill, so that's todays' plan, again strangely enough (or not?) I normally do the weekly shop on a Friday Evening, but decided to do it yesterday instead (before reading all this!) - to leave this evening free for a change to go watch DS's footie training.. weird HUH.. - and now it looks very like Footie will be cancelled tonight due to the weather. so what will I do
Answered some emails, got a MG/Challenge following Blog up, updated the dusty Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin Profiles - did 15 mins of putting away the "storecupboard", tidying/stocktaking freezer ready for the "new to us" extra one coming in tomorrow to house the Batch Cooking, recycled all the packaging from said shopping.
Next is to make out the list of 250 I think.. anyway Good Luck to All and best wishes on this dreich (translation: wet, horrible) day

PS: I should really get a signature of sorts gong on here!!..

Hello Everyone
I am back, and have finally caught up with all the goings on of the past 10 days!
You peeps are amazing to say the least :T
MG - sorry to hear about the internet problems, I hope they are fixed soon. Please add me to the matrix, I have no idea what capacity I could be useful in. but am sure I must be capable of something!
Hypno - What a wonderful thing to do for a little lad :A
Claire - your successes are a joy to behold, if I can help in any way please let me know ( I have "liked" your page on facebook, and sent requests to my friends).
Everyone else, its brilliant to see how this thread is inspiring you all, I hope that I can find "something" useful to do for you all, sadly I don't have a creative bone in my body, so would struggle to find something to do for myself

:jYay to all the marathon people You will all have to find a way we can spot you on TV and cheer you on to the great times I know you will achieve
:jYay to Clairewop - my snowman earrings arrived today and I love them love them love them - definitely for me this time
:T to Oliveoyl - what a fantastic idea - I am following the Secret and the challenges and this thread too, not with any particular business in mind but I know that it will bring positive changes to my life and the lives of my family so it was great to see that by thinking creatively you have adapted the challenge to suit you and the people and things you care about
:T to Hypno for your generosity and brilliant and inspiring thread
MG Had you any idea what you would be starting? :A0 -
Hello everyone, i did my 1st post last night and would love to be included on the Matrix, not sure what i can do to help but am happy to try.
Brief run down on me, am 51 happily living with my partner in fife, 7 kids and 4 grandchildren. (Yes we did have a telly lol).
I walked out on my call-centre job 2 weeks ago, disillusioned and totally down (it was basically chugging over the phone and soul destroying). So at the moment am frantically applying for anything and everything. 2 interviews this week and didnt hear back from 1 and was phoned this morning to say I had'nt got the other 1. Boo hoo, but its nice to be contacted. I have loads of life, people, admin skills etc but am wondering if at 51 I.m past it (hope not).
Trying really hard to be positive about stuff.
So thats me in a nutshell (partner is a joiner) and very supportive about me leaving work (thank heavens for that, worth his weight in gold). But I really, really need to get another job, no matter what it entails.
Have loved lurking here and following the journey. So I hope nobody minds if I join in.;)0 -
Wow what a lot to catch up on! All the energy here is amazing!
:T
Claire - :j Congratulations!
MG - I hope your BB gets sorted ASAP... how annoying!
Marathon runners - you are all mad utterly mad but good luck! :Tcrickett1234 wrote: »Marathon runners, you are completely and totally bonkers... but well done! When I was created, it was not speed they had in mind!! I could NEVER do 26 miles of running. Hell, I couldn't do 26 miles of walking!!
Crickett - could you organise something silly for children in need (which is next month I think) so your collegues could see a less scary side of you? You certainly don't seem scary on here...
OliveOyl - sounds like you've been busy! :T Good luck!
Souk - what would your Glasgow thing involve?
Everyone else - :j:T((((hugs))))
 etc... delete as appropriate! Sorry my brain could only take in so much info... sorry if I've forgotten people!
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Hello Memory Girl and everyone else
A big 'thank you' for the book MG, it arrived at the end of last week (sorry I've not be able to get online sooner to thank you). I'm hoping to read it over the next few days and also read thru' Mr Big's challenges.
Everything seems to be going fantastically well ... I'm so pleased for you :j Well, apart from the broadband  Fingers crossed that it's all up and running again soon. I know when we had our BT landline and broadband installed, it took several days to settle down.
I would love to be included in the Matrix - I'll PM you, I'm happy to help where possible.
Claire, your jewellery is fab, again, I'll PM you regarding your flyer. I'm sure my nieces will love it, as will their friends
Bye for now.0 -
