  • Great news MG!

They really are a bunch of ******* though that they can't even manage to NOT pay you when they say they will.
  • Can I ask a question about the "positive requests to the Universe"?

I know that in theory we should just think positively and things will happen. As a reforming pessimist this positivity thing does not come naturally to me yet. So, would it kill the process stone dead if I were to write down what I want to happen very clearly and positively in a book somewhere and then read it back to myself or out loud occasionally? My head is getting a little confused with all the positive things I am supposed to be thinking about, and I don't want to confuse the Universe!!

    celebrations - come on!!!!!!
guess what - the girlies in the bank had to phone someone to check what the payment was because it only shows as a bank credit to them too until tomorrow.

...................... and its the missing in action tax credits:T

brilliant, brilliant, brilliant - just in time to unstick the brakes on the car.:D

time too to repay some loans to some very kind people who have kept us going in the last few weeks.

and by my reckonning we should come out just about even - wouldn't that be so marvelous:)

So, so pleased for you. So, after an unpromising start, it was an onwards AND upwards day :)

    Positive vibes to everyone,

Can't see why not - writing the wishes and reading them, this is. About postivity, though, my opinion (and experience) is that it goes far beyond wishing for and expecting positive things. It is about the core beliefs we hold, the way we think and the way we phrase things. My experience is that the way to approach it is through our thinking and language - because these are the points at which we can exercise control and they imperceptibly change our beliefs.

For a long time now I have been watching the way I speak (and those around me) and I have noticed that we all use inherently negative statements. You don't have to look far to see it. So two things:

    1) have been trying to translate statements from negative to positive;
    2) have this elastic band around my wrist and everytime I have a negative thought I snap it (works at a very basic Pavlovian level).

OK, what I am trying to say is: not being very naturally cheerful I have tried to work around this and to change it. Writing your wishes is working around it; the next step is to try and overcome it.

    Hope this helps.

Looking forward to hearing your seminar story! Fingers crossed for the brakes.... Strangely enough, I know someone on another forum whose brakes have just gone - she was quotes £800 by the dealership, and £60 by the local garage - fingers crossed it's closer to the second amount!

Lost a post last night, so I apologise if I already said this somewhere else! :o MG - I think one load of stuff was about student seminars and offering to put up posters etc if it's needed around universities (I've got easy access to 3).

the other bit was for Clarewop. Have you heard of LETS schemes? Local Exchange and Trading Systems. The national website is here (although it's not a very interesting one!) :) It's basically kind of an indirect bartering system which uses a 'virtual' local currency.

So, for example, if you 'sold' me a bracelet you'd made for, say, ten 'stones', I would write you a 'cheque' for those ten stones and they'd be transferred to your account (not real stones, of course!). You wouldn't have to swap directly, but you'd then have those ten stones to spend on, for example, someone giving you a lift to a craft fare :) Don't know whether it operates near you, but something else similar might do. You might also meet someone else who's intodoing something similar?

Just a suggestion worth investigating as a way of getting a lift sometimes if you need it, without having to pay 'real' money on taxis, or feeling like you're asking a favour of people :) And you can spend before you earn (I know that goes against MSE mindset - but it's not real money and the system doesn't work at all if some people don't spend first! :rotfl:)

    :)

Thankyou just had a look they do it in my area :) will look further into it later :)

Never bought my notebook today :( so will have to find one

Forgot to say, Claire I managed to get to your jewellery page by clicking through from your profile, I'm no techie but I think you could make this a one click jump from here by making it your homepage (I don't know how but I'm sure others on here will - as MG has with the challenge) - and then pehaps more people will see your stuff, pass it on to friends etc

Anyone know how to do this?

what did you think of the website?

Click on the user CP (control panel) button on the green bar near to the top of the page, click on 'edit options', and there's an option to 'add homepage' - put the address of your website in there, and save, and then when people click on your name,it will say 'go to Clairewop's homepage' - and that will take them straight to your jewelry :)
  • Good news there MG. :)
