My bedtime story use to be Lord of the Rings when I was aged about 7/8. Remember always looking under the bed to make sure Gollum wasn't there.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Whew! I had a couple of weeks off MSE and came back to 40 pages of excitement!
I've caught up on the thread but only skimmed my way through the blog so far.
I must say though, that your original challenge before Mr Big appeared was enough to get me thinking about what I could improve in my life and what I would like in my dreams.
Since the start of the original challenge, I have lost 23lbs of the 30 I pledged, paid 2/3rds off a debt and done several DIY thingies which had been lurking undone. However in thinking about how I could stretch myself I have also started courses in screen printing (had the first lesson, it was fab) and creative writing.
When I first read Mr Big's monetary targets, I thought that money wasn't the point, I just wanted to be financially secure & free to do the things I wanted, but then I started thinking about how nice it would be to have the kind of income that would free me up to 8 weeks summer holiday etc & started thinking about how this could be acheived and it opened up all sorts of ideas.0 -
not sure i have an answer to any of that
i sell at the local farmers market every month, and have my regulars, I sell at the big cheese once a year and average sales of between £500 and £600 for the weekend, i don't drive so getting to venues is a problem. So i'm trying to sell on the internet, which i'm not doing too well at.
When you sell at the markets do you have flyers to give away with details of your web page and how they can buy online or by post?
Stick a flyer in a bag with each sale as well so they can pass it on to a friend. Use each market as a marketing opportunity as well as just trying to sell stuff.0 -
MG - thank you for the books and messages - I can't wait to start reading (still at work at momnet, so only opened envelope to take a quick peek in!) I think I mayorder a few more so will Pm you re that.
Crickett - Happy Birthday - I loved Chatsworth when I went there for the first time last year - spent all day walking in the grounds and garden so never got in the house!!!
Have printed off the challenges and am going to try and get myself organised to start oworking through them this weekend. - Am feeling more positive about loads of things (see Hypnos thread for my goings on!)
Have a great rest of the day0 -

Another no spend day today, although I fell of the wagon yesterday, I needed eggs from Aldi ended up spending £12 ooopppppssss......but.....as I bought plants I had $£20 in the pot for the garden, so I have transferred that into my account against what I spent on 4 Cyclamen yesterday and plants I bought last week......
It was so cold this morning I put the heating on for an hour, the rads are off in the sitting room, sewing room and hall, I will light the stove when the sun goes down which will heat the sitting room, hall and bathroom. The heat is set to come on at 8.30pm till 10pm when we usually go to bed. I must remember to turn the heating down before we go away.
I have allowed a set sum for our little jaunt away, managed to blag supper for the four nights, twice at daughters and twice with friends, so we just have to provide breakfast and sanries for lunch 3 days, Tuesday we are out for lunch and tea. Any money thats left over will go to the CC I am paying down first. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Helen105 well done on the weight loss, that's fantastic! :T Crickett happy birthday too!
I have just come down with a manky old cold, just as OH and I are heading off for a romantic weekend tomorrow. Awww well. Better wrap up warm, it will still be lovely even just to be away. Hypno - thank for the advice the other day I have really been thinking about it. Think I have been focussing on the 'gap' between where I am and where I would like to be, instead of imagining the wonderful future ahead. It's been quite easy to change the focus. Thanks!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

ps did you have to remember an extra long text, before it self destructedBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
