Below are the results to our previous poll. Thanks to the 2177 participants who took part in this poll.

Previous Poll Topic: Poll Started 14 Aug 2006. Would you womble? It seems some search outside supermarkets for others’ receipts, and then, if they were paid in cash and the loyalty points weren’t claimed, take them to customer services and claim them for themselves. Ignoring the potential legal issues - in terms of attitude, which womble are you nearest?

    d. Big person. Not a chance, never 54.8% - (1195 Votes)
    c. Uncle Bulgaria. I wouldn't search, but may do it if I happened on a receipt 33.4% - (729 Votes)
    b. Tomsk. I'd occasionally peek, but not often 6.1% - (134 Votes)
    a. Orinocho. I'd happily hunt through bins and hedges 5.2% - (115 Votes)

    Total Votes: 2177

My local tesco store imposes a strict 28 day (sometimes less depending on the customer 'service' assistant, which is often inadequate if I'm travelling, receipts lost in the car etc. I'm also mentally handicapped and not very organised. Tip - bank any points asap to prevent them being claimed back by this greedy store.

each one re-used is another point - they don't even have to be Tesco's bags  ...

    Hi all,

I checked out the poll, and I don't fit. I don't go through the bins, and my local Tesco's dosn't have hedges, but I do pick them up from the ground and from trolleys.
    Bye for now

I fit your wombling type too. I wouldn't look through bins but if they are on the ground or at the checkouts abandoned then I'll have them. I only started doing this a little while ago though and I've been careful not to send several from the same day off in one envelope (I'm not brave enough to try the CS desk those people look scary).

I wouldn't worry about asking CS to do this, esthomizzy. I've never had any problems - sometimes I say my OH won't use his clubcard, but they really don't care ;)

Getting them to do a R&R with a smile is another matter, however :D

...........except-I was not allowed multiple bag points last week which were justified by my 3 separate lots of shopping.

I am what you might describe as a Tesco parasite.

I am a peculiar beast, a predator that preys on another predator, my size is so insignificant to my prey when I strike at most it shrugs and carries on with what it was doing, but if carefull I can nibble away at the ankles and supply my needs unnoticed by the mighty beast I feed on!

ben, I appreciate your poetic and mystical approach to the gargantuan monster we call 'Tesco'.
However, since you are clearly a master of the art, do you have any more tips for we novices please? Or is it a zen-like pursuit wherein the true way emerges only slowly on the long path to enlightenment?

Didn't know you could get that much back on a discarded receipt!

I still say that the idea has never even crossed my mind though until this thread!
