Never mind any sounds from unsolicited phone calls offers. Get it in writing or risk a) dealing with someone who is NOT T-Mobile, b) ending up with a different "offer" to the one you accepted.0

i did not think t-mobile ring poeple up about upgrades ,i throught it was dodgy companys that did that ,ho it is a dodgy companys
ring t-mobile and ask them about the offer ,there or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
I have searched Google and WhoCallsMe etc and people's comments state it is Tmobile and when you phone the number, it says they are Tmobile0
-
Even if they appear to be T-Mobile, is it worth the risk?
I'd contact them via one of the numbers listed on their "Contact Us" page: http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=html&cat=CONTACTUS to be sure.
The internet form T-Mobile is not unlimited - the limit stated in the Fair Usage policy is 1GB per month. See: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup1Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone If you choose a Pay Monthly plan which includes internet on your phone, you’ll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use internet on your phone in the UK and you can’t use your phone as a modem or use internet on your phone for peer to peer file sharing, instant messaging or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month. We’ll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won’t charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your booster, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. If you remove your booster and then use internet on your phone you’ll automatically be charged our daily rate, see t-mobile.co.uk.0 -
Thats interesting cos bloke in T-mobile shop told us that internet fair usage was 3 gig
Edit - It is a Tmobile number as I've just rang them and they have the call logged on their system
Jones - wrong info there ..Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phone You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5.0 -

Isn't the Experia an Android handset? If so, the FUP is 3gb a month, not 1gb
If you have 'unlimited' internet on an Android phone, it's 3gb, BUT, if you were to choose the unlimited internet as an add on 'booster' to a contract that doesn't have unlimited internet, then you'll only get 1gb.0 -
I agree with the above - it's a bit dodgy just agreeing to a contract verbally, particularly if they say "We can't take incoming calls! You have to decide NOW!" That's a pretty hard-sell tactic which suggests you may be able to get a much better deal elsewhere.
Also, you can't exactly read the small-print over the phone, so presumably they just assume that you will agree to all of their terms... It just doesn't sound like a sensible way to go about things. (Already, it seems, there is some confusion over the Internet "fair use policy". Is it 1 or 3 GB/month as in the standard terms, or are T-Mobile really offering you unlimited access as they say? If the saleswoman made a mistake, would she admit it? Would they keep a recording of the call to confirm this? Would they pretend to have lost the recording and take you to court if you refused to pay a massive bill caused by Internet use beyond the fair use policy?)
If you do decide to accept their offer (assuming they call again) I would definitely record the call and keep a copy of the recording until the contract expires or you have receive written confirmation of the contract terms.0 -
Sorry, I didn't realise the Xperia X10 was an Android handset.
In that case the limit should be 3GB - make sure you check this though, as they usually charge an extra £5 for Android internet compared to "normal" internet.0 -

I don't think they do charge any extra for Android sets. I'm paying £15 a month for my Desire with 300 texts, 300 x network minutes, unlimited landline calls and 3gb FUP.0 -
Maybe it's a sales tactic then. The Android internet selection isn't avilable on the internet - you have to phone up.
I phoned up last Saturday and was told it usually costs £5 more, but they'd waive it if I signed up there and then. It worked (I was going to go with T-Mobile anyway) and I'm on the tariff as you maxtweenie, with my Nexus One.0
