Whiskas complete dry cat food

Will be honest I've never heard of any of them, I feed Royal Canin.
But I thought Iams was the best available in supermarkets.
Far from it. It's hugely over priced crap that relies on people like yourself (and myself, I fed Iams until about a year ago when I started researching pet foods) thinking it's the best around. The above mentioned foods are all high meat content, decent foods.
And If you're after a decent dry food check out arden grange, orijen, purely, burns...Sorry to go slightly off-track here, but is Applaws dry really not complete? My cat will only dry food (I've tried her on Applaws and PAH Purely Wet, but no luck). What makes it incomplete?
Applaws are having a few issues with their dry right now, there is a huge thread about it over on pet forums. If you're thinking of trying it, have a read of that first. Not that I'm saying don't use it, just give it a read before making your mind up.

I've never fed Iams, I don't plan to start.
I have exotics (so persian faces) when they come off Royal Canin kitten food (on last bag) they will go onto Royal Canin Persian. Shaped for the persian mouth & susposed to be perfect for the needs of the breed.Applaws are having a few issues with their dry right now, there is a huge thread about it over on pet forums. Charlie is a fuss pot (like Ted was) & he wouldn't eat anything else. He won't eat treats or anything, just RC. Ted was exactly the same.
There is something in that, that they won't eat anything else if they are used to it.0 -

Can anyone tell me how Whiskas complete compares with IMAS please?
My moggies are thriving on IMAS but the Whiskas is cheaper at the moment - is it worth buying Whiskas to save some pennies?
Thanks :-)
Also, as I've said in my earlier post I fed my cats Iams until about a year ago, and assumed they were thriving. Besides my youngest cat having a problem with over grooming everything was great.
Afetr reading a random post in a pet forum saying food can contribute to over grooming I did some research and changed both cats to Arden grange hypo-allergenic and my god the difference was incredible. I always thought they has lovely soft coats, but now I know they didn't at all, not compared to how they are now. There's much less waste (IE they poo less), they're much calmer, the over grooming stopped and they generally seem much fitter and more agile. It also works out better for me as the higher meat content food lasts longer, so I spend less.
There's a vast difference between thriving and surviving and you generally don't notice that difference until you've seen your cat do both. They survived on Iams, but they're thriving now.
Trust me, change your cat (or dog) to something hypo-allergenic, something with a decent meat content and less crap and you will be amazed at the difference.
Okay, I'll shut up now, guess it's pretty obvious pet nutrition is something I'm passionate about.Sigless0 -
feline fayre & hilife - these are sold at Asda & Tesco - personally I find most supermarkets petfood expensive. Cheaper to buy online or from Petsathome (they seem to be doing alot of offers these days)0

If anyone lives by a b and m or a home bargains they sell feline fayre and hilife pouches for about 19p, also often have 4 tins for £1 of hilife. Sainsburys often have encore (applaws) on offer for £3 (ish) for 8 tins.Sigless0

Remember each cat is different too, some won't like/bodies won't agree to all the same foods.
My kitty has reocurring cyctis whenever she is not on applaws, i have read all the information out there and would rather have a pain free happy kitty.
I should add she was a stray and in very poor condition when she decided to adopt us, now is the picture of health, no longer flea ridden, infested with worms, she is now the perfect weight and has a beautiful glossy coat.
I would also like to note that she doesn't just have dry food, we do also give her wet food (which she will pick at) and meat scraps which get wolfed down fast them the eye can see!0
