    In that case you will be the main driver and should be named as such on the insurance.

    i know but I think in a few weeks if hes driving again it makes sense to keep him as the driver and me get named on it that way will save much more money as well and plus are they going to check my dad is driving straight away?

    no nothing like that i appreciate the help im just thinking if my dad starts to drive in 2 or 3 weeks and hes not on the insurance it will cause problems so was checking it was okay just for me to be named on my dads car

    insure it in your name and add your dad as a named driver as and when he starts driving again.

    I am fazed and I wouldnt intentially fiddle the system and not looking to do so all Im saying is my dad may be back driving in a few weeks so I wanted to see if It was possible to have him stay on his insurance for his car that is all

    why have a go what I meant is hes having rehab so he may be able to drive so its not ruled out, thanks to everyone who helped
