Now that child support isnt deducted from IS you should be more than able to get out of your overdraft because you will be £360 per month better off.

Sorry but the OP can get on here quick enough and !!!!! about nothing being her fault but she cannot be arsed to go online and check her bank accounts before spending money she does not have.
I note she already has an overdraft and so is accustomed to overspending but thinks that the taxpayers should pay for her bank charges with a crisis loan.
If I was her ex I would be wanting to take control of her finances as she is utterly out of control at the moment.0 -

Crisis loans have to be paid back.
I'm currently paying back £20 p/w for a £200 loan that I had to take out because my Tax Credits were stopped for a couple of months when my bf moved in.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

When the same thing happened to me after my Tax Credits were stopped suddenly Nationwide were extremely understanding & gave me the bank charges back they had charged me as i'd never gone over my overdraft before.
It's certainly worth a go, don't bother with you local branch though it's best to phone head office as they have more power when it comes to this kind of thing.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

I presume that everyone [...] has enough in their bank accounts to cover all of their DDs if their wages doesn't get paid on time?
Of course. Any sensible adult does. And if you have multiple payments from multiple streams then that is even more important.Or have you run out of money by the last week before pay day?
Not if you are poor and choose to pay by direct debits. If you don't want to maintain your account like an adult then do not use direct debits. In a perfect world [...] i would be abe to get a job that fits around my childcare needs.
That's what childcare is for - your statement does not make any sense.0 -

I think this comment is a bit unfair not everyone earns/receives enough to be able to save money to the side incase you dont get paid, you dont know what OP is paying out every month, everyones financial situation is different.
My incomings certainly dont leave much excess to put to the side, does that mean im not a sensible adult because I cant cover myself if I dont get paid?
I dont think so!0 -
Have you been receiving and keeping £360 a month off of your ex for the last 4 years whilst claiming full IS at the same time? Or has it just changed since the benefits/maintenance change?
It must be very annoying, but unfortunately, as hard as it is, I don't think anyone should rely on maintenance to such extent, to pay their bills. It could stop any minute. If he lost his job and went on benefits himself, you would have to get by on £5 a week.
Can you not try and amend your budget to ensure all your bills are covered by your income and the maintenance is for extra, non essential bills?
No, I don't think you'll get very far with applying for bank charges from him, sorry.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
