My ex was supposed to have paid £360 at the end of the month (this has been the arragement without a hitch for last 4 years). This month payment has gone in and I am £250 over my overdraft which I wouldn't be if money had gone in on time. I will now be hit wth charges that are not my fault. I am on income support and arrange for my direct debits to come off on the 1st of the month. Can i get a crisis loan to cover this? Can I make a claim againt him for bank charges? I will now be going to get his maintenance reassessed as i haven't done so in the last 3 years. please advise me on what to do I am extremely upset and he doesn't want to know. Divorce papers are in the process of being signed. He is being a complete B*****d.

is there anyone I can get in touch with today even though i is a bank holiday?

Have you gone overdrawn before? maybe if its the first time and you explain the situation to someone in the bank, they may write off the charges. This happened to me once before and they were kind enough to just take them off!

Maybe if he is your ex he shouldn't be paying in to your bank anyway so this isn't the banks fault therefore they will charge you for it, why would you be able to get a crisis loan too pay for an error you and he made, they will most likely say you can have a budgeting loan which you will have to pay back. I know if i had an ex he certainly wouldn't be able to pay in to my account and therefore i would have set up a separate one so this wouldn't have happened in the first place

He's paid a substantial amount of maintenance to you on time without a hitch for 4 years and he's a B******? Give the guy a break, the payment can't have been that late, the last banking day of the month was only the 30th?

my ex pays my maintenence into my bank account by DD so it isn't that unusual to be fair. perhaps with it being a holiday weekend something has been held up somehwhere, have you not spoken to your ex OP to ask if he did infact pay it in?
you can apply for a crisis loan if you don't have any money for food or an electric card etc, (they will ask when you last had money and when your next IS/child benefit/child tax credits payments are) but you won't get one for paying an overdraft or bank charges

Seems strange , when I transfer money into another bank it appears instantly in the recieving account.
Saying that I pay CSA directly and would not pay the PWC directly.

How can £360 being paid in a few days late cause a £250 overdraft?

IIRC the csa pay out on a Monday, I pay money in every Thursday , it doesn't get taken out. Also for the OP, the 1st was a Saturday so any payments due out on the Saturday would go out on the 4th as the days in between are not banking days :o, if you are £250 OD then it appears you were already £110 OD
