Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for 2 may .It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning.

Greetings from down this way. 5c this morning and we might seer some sun. Hardly warm though.

Day off and starting a week of fun really. 2 fishing trips and a dinghy sailing event... Only working one day.
I shall probably start to set up my Polytunnel today, at least getting the frame done. The plastic will have to wait for a non windy day and some help.
Succumbed to a 2 for one Dominos pizza last night, shared it with the kids, who were grateful. A house full of food but did not fancy cooking any of it.
Enjoy it now I guess. According to a program last night "what the politicians won't tell us" Taxes are going up, cuts everywhere and things will cost a lot more..... OUCH

SKY remote died last night, it's amazing how hard it is to use the TV without it. They are sending me another free as its still in the 12 month warrantee...

Have a good day folks.

    Morning all
Chilly & overcast here today, hope to spend some time in the garden later as long as it doesn't rain.
The freezer is very low on food but I had a scrummage in there yesterday & found some roast pork slices, so hubby will have those for lunch with stuffing, roast pots & veg, I don't eat pork, so will make an individual lentil roast for myself.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Good Morning

Wet miserable start here too but the sun is trying to come out. Am having a slow peaceful start to the day as everyone else is still in bed.

Will be having a pottering around the house day after the palaver of yesterday, managed to get caught as we left the pictures in the mad BestBuy (Lakeside) traffic and couldn't get out of the car park. So ended up watchin another film and getting home late.

Have the gammon I cooked yesterday for dinner today as got home too late.

Will probably spend some time in the office today so I can make a headstart on myself this week.

Hope you all have a great day.x

    Morning All

Feel lousy with this cold but have just taken tablets so hopefully they will kick in. I've a bit of a dilema - do I o do some MSing jobs or have another day off and work twice as much on Friday? still haven't decided. I'm edging towards staying around the house and getting it into some order and repotting my seeds that have sprouted up lovely! Might compromise and do a bit of both!

forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer for dinner so I might go and do my shopping shortly provided lidl & Mr A are open as normal get that out of the way and get a fresh chicken for the slow cooker.

Might just have a coffee or two while I decide what the plan of attack is - we have blue skied here today but not sure how warm it is.

    Have a good day x

    morning all!

should be going to work today but have rung in sick - my back is no better and I daren't risk it at work - feel a bit guilty as we are short staffed but nothing I can do about it. Off to the docs tomorrow I think.
Plans for today are to just potter - backs better if I keep moving.

DS1 is visiting later - he want to buy a car from the garage over the road.
DS2 has got over his hangover - his room is clean and back to normal and ha has apologised.
DH is back at work - up at 1.30am:eek: so he'll need a sleep later.

Shall pop and visit Mum later too, she's been poorly with a stinking cold.

Diva - (((hugs))) hope you're feeling better x

(((hugs))) also for PenPin and PenPen x

Its sunny here so WM is on yet again.
Think they are having fish, chips and curry sauce for tea - I'm having a HM cheese and potato pie from the freezer.

have a great bank holiday all x

First time posting on this daily thread. I'm off today and DH at work so i ahve the job of clearing some of the kitchen cupboards as our kitchen is being ripped out on Thursday ready for the new one. Hoping this will help with some de-cluttering as well.

Going to also spend some time cutting the invites for my 30th birthday party and get those ready to post tomorrow. Designed them myself on the computer, printed in colour at work and have some wavy scissor to trim them with. Bought invites were so expensive especially when i have over 50 to send to have saved quite a bit of money doing them this way.

Can't go out either today as waiting to hire car company to pick up current hire car (which was delivered to my Thursday with a puncture!!!!) and deliver me a new one.

Sun is pocking through so will get on with some washing as well today.

    Morning Everyone,

Gorgeous sunny day in Glasgow. Fell aslepp on the sofa last night, and my neck has a real crick. Ouch, but I'm sure it will go with some movement. WM on, think I'll strip my bed and get the covers out to dry in the sun, too. DS2 is going to a friend's birthday outing at 12, so will walk over there with him, and come home via the Co-op and see what I can find.

I am only working tomorrow this week, and still have loads to get done in the house, that blind is still calling my name, and the decorating wants doing. Might try and persuade OH to replace some skirting he removed months ago so that I can get the kitchen seen to, and the paperwork is doing it's usual scream at me to get a move on. Why does it never stop. You get everything done, but can't really take a break because it all just builds up again! Ho hum, think I need a holiday.

Right, off to finish my tea, and get a move on, have a lovely day and hugs, especially to everyone who's MIA at the moment.

    ETA Morning Loopylulu, welcome!

Morning, all. Another rainy day here. I can't imagine there'll be a lot happening today because of that. That said, we've got quite a few chores to do here so we'll not go short of stuff. :) I've got my shopping list to sort out, a new cross stitch pattern to find (I want a warrior woman on a motorbike :D ) and there's superbikes on today :D

I found a recipe yesterday for some bacon, basil and cheese muffins which got me thinking about picnics. I really want to go on a picnic this year. It's on my annual To-Do list so I'm going to need a few bits and pieces in the freezer I can just take out and prep/cook. So far, I have:

mini meatballs, to have on sticks with a tomato salsa
    bacon, basil and cheese muffins
    quiches
    sticky mini sausages

    etc, etc,

I must start putting some of these items on my shopping list. I've got some puff pastry in the freezer so could make cheese straws, savoury pinwheels, etc. Yeah.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Have a nice day, everyone and (((hugs))) to those in need. Take care,

    Kitchenbunny xx
