  • [QUOTE=longtermlurker;32478157]I almost finished apart from the cupboard and the oven. What is the best way of cleaning it apart from with a hammer and chisel:o[/QUOTE]

    I suggest 360559_Hand-Grenade-Posters.jpg

and 3tabbycats, I've got them, they make your legs ache a bit at first, but they are ever so comfortable and they cushion the impact of some of my excess [cough] weight, so they protect my back and joints too. And they look rather good. I think my posture improved a lot too - after a couple of weeks, I found it much easier to walk in normal shoes, rather than dropping my heel to the inside.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Greenbee We have a cast iron enameled bath, will it be ok with soda crystals? I will really try to have a go everyday.
    Mine was fine with it...
Well at least you will know I am thinking about cleaning the oven:p

I think the bath is beyond help anyway, it really needs replacing. Will have a look at that though, we can't afford to replace it.
    you can get them re-enameled...

piggers it would be better to take your time a bit and not put yourself under a whole lot of pressure
piggers:hello:[STRIKE]what about just papering 1 wall?[/STRIKE] the Zhivago one

Now don't be silly.. I want it done NOW!!!

Actually DD2 comes home on Friday.. and has no bed as it is piled with EVERYTHING frommy room so it has to be done before she needs to sleep on Friday.. otherwise she is on the sofabed in the middle room which she may not be happy about!

We've decided on the butterfly one.. it will fit in better with our 'rest of the house' colour scheme.. and I'll only have to buy the paper and gloss for the skirtings. I am begrudging having to buy new curtains and a light fitting as it is!! I am so tight I make nuns knicker elastic look slack!

We are papering the chimney breast and nothing else. The small alcove is being painted red, the woodwork and radiator a beige type colour, a brown carpet and red curtains/light fitting.. then I can go on a duvet cover spree.. I hate picking new bedding!

My room is very empty and VERY echoey!!!

Wotcha's....:), cheers Valli, saw you missed me hun. xxx

Been a rough up and down week, managed to get out for a bit over the weekend but been rubbish on the flying front...so much so I had to wash DD2's uniform at 11pm last night as I'd forgot.:o

Still sulking re my stardrops, cooker cleaning mishap...obviously some has leaked somehow into the digital display and knackered it, so it won't turn the oven on or grill...its a De Detrich so fuff knows how/where I can get it fixed, I've gone into denial and am just using the remoska.

Today mainly been decluttering bullies at DD2's school,....school very supportive.

Glad its a short week...that's all I can say.

Toots, hope your throat feels better soon hun. xxx

I rang one of those places that come to you and re-enamel your bath in situ... for £350 :rotfl:
We went to homebase and bought a new one for a third of that! But ours wasn't freestanding roll top or anything fancy.

No it doesn't it takes a green scrubby cloth thing.. and about 1/8th of a tube.. mine was pink from cleaning red rollers and had all sorts and scank on it and it is now all sparkly.. just buy a really cheap tube from somewhere and use that.. Posh cow here used colgate lol.

Squeeze out about 2inches of toothpaste.. rub it into the cloth and scrub the bath.. works best if you do it in circles. you should need to only refill the cloth 2-3 times.
