How do you stop neighbours hanging on to my wireless connection i have at most time 8 and it is really slowing my computer down

Is it Netgear ?
If it is here is the settings for it.

If they have a helpline i would call them and get them to talk you through the settings. You must have it set to WEP.

That is just a list of other wireless networks that are being detected by your device. They're not using your connection.
But you do need to ensure yours is secure.604!0
