And in my experience as a NTL/VM Service Engineer since 1999 says differently.Although I no longer work for them now,I do know how the network operates.

    Fair enough

So what your saying is that the speed should be back to normal in a day or 2 ?

Should be,the return & forward path I mentioned earlier has a redundent 2 way loop so if the's a break in the loop it autmatically routes the signal & data back the other way, when it's fixed it reverts to normal.
If you're off a boosted DP cab,it should be quicker than if your off the smaller E cabinets.
One of the biggest problems I came across was the install contractors not checking & setting the signal levels whenever they do an install.

If it's XXL then you have major issues, as it's supposed to be 50 Mb!

As bingo said, your supposed to get 50Mb (assuming the internets on the top one as you can get various packages)
Regardless, you DEFINITELY have an issue. Where it says packet loss 88% (Which is absolutely terrible). Until thats addressed your always going to have problems regardless of the download rate

Well, problem still not resolved despite new modem. Connection still intermittant and very slow can't get on most sites. Virgin say it is local fault and will be sorted in 3 days now. am really cheesed off.

I still think it's a forward/return path problem, you really need an engineer out to check on your signal levels along with attenuation/equalisation.
This type of fault can be caused by a lot of things, faulty splitter, isolator, damaged cable, unterminated F connections ect....
