I can't even get on web to get on any sites other than my favourites.
Rang virgin again. Was told it's local fault now and given another telephone number for update on fault. When I called that number was told with automated message there is no fault in my area.
I am really cheesed off. Can't get any sense from anyone at virgin. Just going around in circles.

If you can get onto any websites then your internet connection is not the problem.
Have you tried using a different browser? No free lunch, and no free laptop

macman,
Yes we have tried other browsers. Nothing working.
I guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try & sort it. Kids are giving me a hard time about it. DS#2 is revising for GCSE's.
Have done ping test. We are F grade = very poor, whatever that means. Can't do a speed test, won't load up.
Keeping my fingers crossed they sort it out soon. I may swop to 02. It's cheaper. I am paying £19 for my poor internet.missmental stopping being mental & to be debt free by 53 :j

Try useing your interactive on the VM Tv Box,if the's a problem, then it wont work.Sounds like an issue with the Return Path to me.

Laymans terms....
Imagine a motorway, you're at one end & Virgin are at the other, when you use the internet & press enter,a car speeds from your end to virgins end, this is the 'Forward Path'.
The car coming back brom Virgins reply is the 'Return Path'.
If the signal level coming back down the Return Path is weak, then the 'car' has to work harder to get to your end.
The interactive services on the VM TV boxes work the same way as the broadband, useing the forward & return path.If the interactive does'nt work on the TV,then more likely your forward or return path is affected.(more often the return path)
Are you connected useing NTL/VM cabling ect? No DIY extension leads from the wall box (isolator) to the modem? These can be a big pain in the 'arris!0 -

Glad it's all working, that happened over here when a joyrider took out a Mux Node & the whole lot had to be re-built from scratch!
We sat on the Mux Node for over a week waiting on faults to come in.
Some franchises use the TV box instead of your SACM (Stand Alone Cable Modem) but it sounds like your's does'nt.The interactive is working on every box,it's the thing you use to play the games, order movies ect on.0 -
