Weve got out CTC update today and even for the childcare we are paying (£91 per week) it has gone up by pence.

Thanks Kath, I took that one yesterday because she seems to be growing and changing so fast.....and also *blush* because she had a green top on and I thought it would look nice with the site's new colour scheme.....I really am sad aren't I!! :rotfl:

Is it because your baby will be over 1 year old part way through the year lenny? I think you get an extra amount for a newborn, which is why we're actually getting something this year. It's sooo complicated though, you need a degree just to apply!

And how do they know if you've claimed the right amount for childcare? I've never been asked for any proof. Maybe it's because I don't pay enough to qualify for any childcare element though.

Not sad at all, she fits in beautifully! Wouldn't expect anything less, she was born on Martin's birthday after all!

Hi Snaggles - glad to hear the milk's still flowing :)

I have received 6 (yes 6!) different notices re CTC in the last month. First said I had one child and no childcare, so I rang and corrected them: 2 children, 1 in full time childcare, other at School.

2nd notice says I have 2 children, both in childcare! 3rd says 2 children both in School. 4th says 4 children  2 in childcare, 2 in school. 5th says 4 children, all in childcare and lastly, finally they got it right the 6th time - why is it so complicated

I also rang them mid March to tell them about a wage increase, they told me to ring on 1st April as it won't affect that years credits and they couldn't record it. So I rang 1st April and 3 more times to tell them as they didn't update the award notice - now they have sent me a letter telling me off for not telling them about wages in March

    *sigh* I give up!

Have you got any tips for getting great photos of kids Kath - photography is your area isn't it? It takes me ages to get anything approaching a decent photo, thank goodness for digital cameras.

I'm glad it's not just me then blackangel! What a nightmare you had - I bet YOU were confused about how many kids you had by the time you'd sorted it!

They are SO a nightmare - they had me paying child care for DD1 at one point - SHE IS FOURTEEN!!!

Snaggles - it is a beautiful picture and I for one dont think your sad for fitting in with the colour scheme. I dont know if you remember but we won a sitting a Mark Swinfords (I resited to the VERY end) with one free pic and I chose a lovely one with the girls side on and their foreheads touching.
The sitting was great - it was all running about and jumping and chasing. The pictures that were *posed* they were made to laugh by the photographer doing silly things rather than then obligatory *smile please* - It made all the difference as to how natural the pics looked.
Little legs' godfather has an all singing, all dancing camera and we are gonna go down to Kirkstall Abbey and try get some nice pics done there one weekend :):)

We have half the house double glazed but I know what you mean about them falling off - we had the same shenannigans from SS when we got a quote before Christmas so the figure in my sig is based on the lowest we eventually got them to for 4 windows (started at over £4k ) As OH is not working at the mo though I'm going to want more than the £1200 in there before we go ahead as I dont want to be left with nothing at all as back up - IYKWIM

Phew - sorry this got so long
